247 Sports' Crystal Ball says 50/50 between Cal and UConn:

Gotta flip a coin, heads its UConn, tails its Cal
Their earlier guys say Cal.... the later guys say Uconn, so does that mean he's a Uconn lean ?... or do any of them know WTF they are talking about ...LOL !

So I thought about his comparison for us going forward is he more like Coomb McDaniels but better shooter or Niels a little more talented

I think I like the Niels Giffey comparison more. IMHO Giffey is one of the more underrated all around players in UConn history. A great off ball defender and help defender, great 3 point shooter, very team-oriented, the kind of guy all championship teams must have - the glue guy, except Niels was possibly the best glue guy ever at UConn. He is all-Glue 1st team, and winner of the Elmer's Glue 2014 Glue Man Award.

I could see that too, Giffey looks a little more wiry and athletic than what I saw from Vance in his Youtube looks...but I would take Giffey's defense / intangibles/SR year shooting) and Rashad's dagger type shooting ....all day !

HNGN reporting UConn to be the "heavy favorite", although not sure if they aren't peeking into 247's Crystal Ball:

http://www.hngn.com/articles/141038...on-set-to-decide-uconn-the-heavy-favorite.htm

The above article described Vance as a "below average athlete" who can score the ball, so now I am starting to understand where all the Rashad Anderson comparisons are coming from, as Rashad was a poor athlete, but a premiere 3 point shooter and scorer. I just hope Jackson can play some D

Blades, it is not supposed to be announced until tonight. We are 3 hours behind California so if it is announced 8 pm in California it will be news here at 11:00 p.m. I think some people may be trying to "leak" it as news, following the 247 Crystal Ball.

Story with quotes from his HS coach from Borges at the New Haven Register:
* UConn men add top recruit Vance Jackson on First Night

Every team is looking for shooters,” said McKnight, who coached Stephon Marbury professionally in China a few years ago. “You look at how the NBA has gone, it’s so 3-pointer-centric. A guy (Jackson’s) size that can shoot the deep ball that effortlessly doesn’t come around that often.” He also added Vance may be a bit different, with more a “laid-back, West Coast demeanor ” But that could change once he officially arrives at Storrs next season. “When he gets out there, UConn is gonna help him with that,” said McKnight. “UConn is a high-intensity environment, and that will be really good for him.”

So could he become a 6'8" version of... Rashad " Fish Fry " Anderson ??? ( 276 career three pointers for UConn...here's 234 of them...Thanks TCF)
