Tom, Women's BB forum?

And Bunsen82 is like going to the grocery store with his dad and as they're walking in asks for a candy bar. And the whole time shopping keeps annoyingly asking. The question is, what type of parent will Tom be, the one that gives in, or the one that says, you're too annoying and not today.
Yeah, I don’t get it. How could badgering the decision maker possibly help?
1. Is my explanation logical? Meaning its easy and not costly so why not do it and doing it now in the transition is the most reasonable time to do it?
2. My posts are to show he has no intention of doing it just like prior, even if he wants to say his hands were tied. They were never tied here and he never made one, he only made the basketball forum for complainers (his words).
3. His threshold for doing the board is the next 30 days traffic, in the offseason when there is minimal news and minimal traffic.
4. If he says he is not going to make a board because 1 poster, lets just say there would be major questions if he took that approach in the position he is in. He has not sent me a single individual message or otherwise or told me to knock it off.
5. I have always learned the squeaky wheel gets greased if it has a logical reason as to why - that you have never been belligerent. This is a message board, meaning I am also getting some humor and entertainment out of this thread. Its almost become a joke thread for me and I stated as much earlier. He wants traffic, we can have several posts on this thread without spamming it. So I am trying to do my job on multiple facets

I'm not sure the squeaky wheel thing works in this situation, but sure, give it a try. You're basically calling Tom a liar and that usually doesn't end well on message boards when referring to a mod. I don't think this is a joke to you at all. You're on a mission to get your way and you'll go down fighting.
No it is a joke, because there is no intention to have another board. Nothing posted here will make a difference one way or another. See I know that.
Edit - Ive never called him a liar. I said the qualifications to have a new board is effectively unattainable based on what he is judging it by. On Page 1 you still have posts from May 1st. There is not enough traffic to justify another board. Issue is this is the offseason. I remember in the heyday of message boards with Football and Recruiting boards, summer months were notoriously slow til about August or if big recruiting weekend. Or you have something weird like Ettore Ewen committing out of nowhere in June and everyone gawking at his picture.

There have been 16 posts in this thread today and zero in the thread with my article on Emely Rodriguez that I posted four hours ago.
In the Swarm Lounge there have been 10 responses to that article and some discussion on Rodriguez and the potential starting lineup.
I just want to say thanks for posting the Rodriguez article. I read it and she definitely sounds like a great pickup. Thanks again.
9 out of the first 16 threads on the basketball board at this moment are related solely to WBB. This includes several that are about Caitlin Clark and the WNBA (which would likely dominate a WBB board, if we are going to be honest).
Also of note, of the 7 non-WBB threads, two of them are silly GIF threads.

I’ve been gone at an all star game and didn’t see the article. It’s solid. Thanks for the extra insight. It’s greatly appreciated.
Personally I feel like we have lost some posters either in the the transition or summer months. For me it’s a much cleaner board when separated. I had 3-4 threads I would watch or participate in.

Where is everyone saying they would do it in a month? Or are they going to say its my fault because I said it appeared they didn't want to have a women's basketball board.
Actually NO one said it would happen in a month. If I remember correctly, (which I do) I said lets give it sometime and see what happens. Even TK said it would be "evaluated" then. I guess if nothing happens shortly then we'll see many angry posters. Personally I don't think its that big a deal 1) because we're still months away from the actual season. 2) Because if most the posts are about Jans team and the Fever its not like it will be hard to find or respond to them. Just IMHO of course....
I was talking about Tom. In either case they had no intention to create a board. As I said you don't have the traffic in July. It doesn't mean it has been a valuable board to the old rivals board before it was acquired. Yeah it doesn't matter now, it will be messy during the season, and this is the best time to do the switchover.
Whats your issue Legend. It was my last post at the time, I think I did 1 more legit post after that. Until just starting yesterday I had let it go until Tom's timeline of a a month later. But you be you. You are the poster child of not letting things go LOL.

I think having a WBB forum is a good idea. However, whether you were logical or not your approach on the subject makes me hope Tom doesn’t start one right now. The squeaky wheel theory can work but you were more like the nagging ex who took some personal shots and then pulled the Eddie Haskell ‘me? What did I do?’ Routine.
I wouldn’t start one now for fear of setting a precedent of whiny posters getting what they want. You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
So, in reality you would like to see a WBB Forum so you wouldn't have to go to it to see "news of 6'3" post players with negative wing spans?
I mostly endorse this take. I prefer a separate WBB forum but the relentless preemptive whining has become irritating…. all over a convenience issue as the content is still available.
Good point(s). If we ask ourselves, "Where are all of the other threads from HB?" then we can clearly see that content migration understandably, is taking time as well.
Good news is that you have the option of not reading about any of that if you don’t want to.
But there are plenty of people that do care about and support women playing sports.
That is 100% false. I said I would evaluate things after a month, which I will do. But, the message I received today (not asking for feedback from on3, but something our owner posted to all pubs today) was they would like us to do away with all free forums if possible. I am going to go go bat to see if we can keep something, but it might end up out of my hands. Time will tell.
I have tried to be transparent and fair with you, but the responses and attitude of, he's just not going to do it is not accurate or fair. I have been honest with you from the beginning and will continue to be. Just because you don't get what you want when you want it doesn't mean I already decided what was going to happen.
I don't want to start another pissing match because this thread already has that but the way you worded those two sentences make it sound like you have the ability to keep free forums but don't necessarily want to. In which case whatever, but I'll be damned if I pay extra to read hot takes on the interweb.
If free boards go away….they go away. Posters have no one to blame but themselves. Most threads denigrate into a cesspool of arguments and name calling. Some good discussion, but not enough.
I’m no saint. I have been banned by you, Tom, on the other site before and always deserved it. But for the past few years I have endeavored to be more civil, and I am growing increasingly disgusted with the pettiness, hate, name calling, etc. on internet message boards. Doesn’t matter which….they are almost all the same.
