Oregon gave the game away with 4 and 3 on Washington's 47, and going for it. Washington scores in two plays from the 47.

If you want to go after Rick Dickson, just say so. They’ve had two ADs in the last 25 years. Rick and Dannen. It’s Dannen that hired Fritz, brought back the old logo because they studied how much it would sell, and other key moves that enhanced the visibility of the program. So if you want to go after Rick, just say so.
Wow, this is a bizarrely defensive and aggressive response. I honestly haven't thought about Rick at all, but coming from the unofficial voice of the University of Tulsa, this makes me think, where there's fire, there's usually fire.

Your thoughts are a little bizarre at times. Astro made a not so subtle comment about Dickson, but didn't identify Dickson by name. That's about all I saw in that remark. No signs of fire or smoke. You read a lot of things into comments that seem innocuous. It was just a back handed insult to Dickson, being commented on. One of Astro's numerous insults to the AD of Tulsa.

Seems like I hurt someone's feelies. He's admittedly had a roller coaster career and done some very positive things.... like hired Tubby, got Tulane's stadium funded after Katrina, made some good decisions for Wazzu's football program etc.... Hopefully he finishes a long career strong and goes out on a positive note.

I never thought that you didn't understand the post, and you realize this. Your perception of fire is ludicrous. I've seen you do this a couple of different instances besides this time, and didn't comment. Thanks.

I negotiate for a living, I need to understand what people mean. Sometimes they mean what they say, sometimes they mean something different or more. Nobody's perfect, sometimes I just get it wrong and often it's probabilistic, he probably means X but might mean Y.

Anywho, my thinking was, aston made an implied and very mild comment about Rick, and Huffy came back with a response that was way out of proportion to Aston's slight, implied criticism. What could that mean?

Maybe Huffy didn't understand Aston's comment, we'll see now that you've made the discussion clear. Maybe Huffy had a bad day or was in a hurry. Maybe Huffy is an a$$hole, though Huffy is a lot of things, I've never considered him to be an a$$hole, he's much too strategic for that. Maybe Huffy wanted to stir the pot, some people (like Aston and me) think stirring the pot is fun, but Huffy doesn't usually do that (he stirs the pot but usually for self-aggrandizement). Maybe he's emotionally unnuanced, there are certainly posters like that, but that's not Huffy.

So what? Well, often Huffy's opinion isn't Huffy's opinion, or at least not just Huffy's opinion. It's water being carried. So if this is carried water, then that suggests that something is going on to make someone who matters defensive and aggressive about Rick. Fire. Am I right? I don't know, only time will tell. It'll be fun to see. Half the fun of the board is figuring people out and trying to understand why they say what they say.

I don't think Huffy was that aggressive, just annoyed by an annoying person, Astro. I don't think there was any great intent or defense here. There are lots of places to read into what Huffy is not saying, but this simply isn't one of them. And his comment was annoying in large part because of it's habitualness as well as because of it's lack of honesty.

As an aside, Astro doesn't like to stir the pot unless you meant subconsciously likes to stir it. For the most part he does it because he can't help himself. He's often not even aware of it after the fact. As intelligent as he is, he is not very self aware or in control of what he says. If you want to point out intentional pot stirrers, then point to somebody like @Original TULSAFAN.

USC is really showing how vulnerable they are as they are getting horse whipped by the Irish
I was amazed by the number of Notre Dame fans that popped out of the woodwork in Oklahoma yesterday. They seem elated today with the whipping that they laid on USC.

Funny.. since just a few years ago all the OU fans were just fine with running Bob Stoops off to keep LR...
Alex Grinch regrets it though. He might have been the hot commodity at D-Coordinator while he was at The OSU, but given Riley's refusal to recruit top defensive talent he's pissed away his career and will be Riley's sacrificial lamb at the end of the season.

Quite honestly the first place my mind took me was to this being a veiled shot at Dickson. To which I would have responded that he did a helluva a job of laying the foundation for Tulane to reap the successes of today. They weathered the hurricane, created top notch facilities, and developed long term support in through their fundraising efforts during his tenure.

I think you're being too hard on Aston. He's a goodhearted rapscallion, a Bart Simpson who can spell. The other I won't argue with you about.

Ok, you've convinced me that Aston was being a prick. Aston, stop it.
