Well...Hoot..Hoot..Hoot! A flock of owls on the schedule, incl. Rice, Fla Atl & Temple. Two Thursday night games prolly won't help attendance, although better than Friday nights. There might be 2 Black Friday Conf. games but yet to be decided by the AACK! I imagine TU vs. ECU will be one of the two. Thanks a lot.

I hadn't even thought of the gathering of owls. You'd of thought that would be illegal or something. Otherwise wouldn't we be called the Golden Tornado. All three D1 football programs in our conference, what a hoot. Do they have magical gatherings in October?

Two Thursday night home games, both against the Owls.

With the roadie against FAU makes three Owls teams. We're also playing the other two 'TU's.'

I don’t have a high schooler any more, but 10/19 will be the Thursday night when the local schools play due to Fall Break. That won’t help our attendance either.

Sad thing is that with Oklahoma on the home schedule, they will want full price for season tix.
TU used OU playing here this fall & OSU here in 2024 as their sales pitch for 2022 season tickets. If you bought season tickets in 2022, you are promised no increase in season ticket prices in 2023 or 2024.

For those of us season ticket holders that suffered through this past 2022 season, we deserved some type of reward!

What happened with “Navy coming to the AAC was conditional on them playing Texas teams”. They only play 2 out of 5 this year. I don’t know why they didn’t make Divisions

Going divisionless makes no sense.
I think the AAC thinking is without divisions you can have the best teams in the Championship game and a better shot for the conference getting a New Years Day Bowl. I would prefer divisions with teams in west plus Navy but understand the thinking.

In a weird way that makes sense.

They sought a waiver to abolish the divisions when the league had an odd number of teams. The networks liked the two best teams format and the P5 immediately started drafting plans to abolish theirs in most cases.

It almost looks like we have joined the MAC...three Thursday night home games. Glad I'm retired.

This will become the new norm throughout the G5 and into the lower P5.

And standby for the networks offering to pay $750,000 to $1 million for us to go to Alabama or Florida or wherever to be their spring game opponent.

It's because people tune in to watch TU play on those crazy weeknight games. And it might be even better for people looking for any game to watch on Thursday night who refuse to pay for Amazon Prime and their Thursday night showings

On the official release it said it was because they didn’t want to make people choose between Labor Day weekend festivities and the game. But I’m sure it’s a little of both.
