I’m actually OK with the pressure of unrealistic expectations on this program at this point. That’s been missing for 12 years or so.

Everyone on this board knows that I reacted with alarm and outrage at the hiring of both PM and FH. So no apologies from me for PM , but as you correctly point out, PM has done a lot quietly behind the scenes in the last few months to substantially improve his stature in my mind at least. I would like to think that is because he no longer feels powerless behind a university infrastructure disinterested or hostile to his success.

That said, he is paid millions to work in a measured success industry. Ultimately, that success is measured not just by wins, but by increased return ticket and season ticket revenue.

We had better see someone coaching with the same sense of urgency as an NBA player in the final year of a multi-year contract.

Winning four games, adding two more when opposing teams beat themselves, and then winning the Coacheslastchance.com Bowl in Slidell LA at 10am on Christmas ain’t gonna cut it.

I'm one of the Hall Monitor's biggest critics. I do wish he had kept a copy of Briles's playbooks instead of taking a blank dry erase board.

But, I do think that the Portal presents him with a unique opportunity. We consistently miss on those HS kids that have no shot of playing at a big school, but, they sign anyway because of the name only to be recruited over the next year.
Dr. Dry Cleaning can capitalize on this and sell a record of draft success with marginal players. Perhaps making TU a destination of the talented but marginalized.
20,000 people cheering for your play is better than 85,000 cheering for your teammates. Its a better look to be seen on a streaming package than not to be seen at all.
So I will cut some slack and see if he can attract enough P5.5 talent to draw the attention of a legit QB and turn us into a talent pipeline.
He may be a better salesman to the more mature players than the HS studs.
