When did this get announced? I could have sworn this game was not on our initial schedule release.

And if we were looking for a game to play this week why not try to work something out with ORU or Arky?

The only thing that would've worked with ORU would be Christmas or the day after, and I doubt they would've gone for that. This game was added a week or two ago. The possibility of Arkansas would have likely been on Saturday, and that would only leave us two full days to prepare for Houston.

The fact of the matter is that both ORU & Arkansas don't have a slot open in our only break in mid February. So unless some covid coincidence happens for the both of us at the same time, then those games are canceled.

This wasn't on our initial schedule. We had room for one more game to fill out our 7 allowed Non Conference games and when the COVID protocol hit the program and the two games got postponed they scheduled this game for more prep before we hit the meat of our conference schedule.

These guys lost to ORU by 53 points. It’s the school from Bethany that hired Dave Bliss. He’s not there anymore.

Did this school used to go by a different name or something? Never heard of it.
It's an NAIA Div III team. I've seen them play exhibition games with a team or two, but I don't know much about them and their rep in div III. Maybe they are wanting to move up a div or two, and are trying to get more experience playing D1 teams now.

I looked it up and they did change names. I remember the old name, but that was a long time ago. In '81 they changed from Southwestern Bible College to Southwestern Christian.
