3. Charlie Davis’ crushing hit of a BYU WR on a crossing route in 2007. The offense announced to the nation that TU was going to be special. Charlie served notice to future opposing coaches and players watching film that even the smallest Tulsa player would not be intimidated.
Charlie gave my son his Nike bicep band after that game. My son still has it.

Chris Penn. That was everything. I’ve never seen my dad so happy. I learned to hate A&M that day. That game is entirely the craziest thing that ever happened and it doesn’t get enough attention.
I agree Gold

A&M win at home is my favorite all time for Tulsa while Notre Dame on the road is runner -up.

GO TU!!!!

4. Milkman against UTEP

UTEP scored on their first drive in that game and on our first offensive possession DJ gets sacked all the way back to our own 1 yard line. Me and a group of friends all turn to each other and groan except for one guy who says "he did that so Marrion could catch a 99 yard touchdown pass." Next play, the Milkman hauls in a 99 yard touchdown pass.

Wasn't it 28-28 at the end of the first quarter? Ah the good ole' days.

Yeah, we scored 70+ on them. I hated UTEP in those early CUSA years. Mike Price can forever suck it.

I hear you, and agree somewhat due to his groundless complaints, but I got to cut the guy some slack.

First, he took the downfall like a man. Maybe he needed the money, but he didn’t just fade away into the insurance or small politics business like so
many other coaches who take their millions and spend them bass fishing after they let their friends rape little kids in the locker room, look the other way at sexual assault and inappropriate sexual contact by players, illegal payments, etc. The only thing Mike Price did was get a little drunk and maybe, maybe arrange to pay for some consensual sex. He couldn’t handle the stress of the Alabama job and made bad choices. A lot of us would have. And he looked right in the camera once he got to UTEP and said “Yep, I’m a horse’s ***.” Not a look of people have the strength to do that to themselves.

He had enough money to do nothing or buy a car dealership or whatever. Instead, he went to a crap program and by the end that crap program was still a crap program that at least looked and smelled like better crap thanks to him.

Second, while he was there he made the conference interesting. He made UTEP interesting and they haven’t been since and probably never will be. Heck, a lot of you guys probably forgot there’s a program out there. The AAC needs more Price and Graham characters. Holgorsen might help if he stays sober and out of the casinos. But you gotta admit there’s a lot of plain vanilla in the AAC right now, starting with our own guy. (Though the exact wrong move, I do count the T-Shirt stunt as personality and give him credit for that immature decision).

Third, give him credit. If you ever saw him swing that big silver plated pick at the 50 in front of the opposing bench, you were intimidated or you’re lying.

Not only did every fan in the stadium know that play was coming, so did UTEP who lined up with 3 deep coverage with the 2 safeties about 20-25 yards off the LOS, and he still ran by them.

All above are great plays & memories. A top 2 or 3 full game for me was 2007 vs BYU mentioned briefly by Huffy above. What a game! Almost 1300 yds of O; over 1K yds passing; about 60 1st downs, the coming out party for a young Chas.Clay, B. Marion delivering sour milk to BYU; vicious hits; Paul Smith, Trae Johnson & Tarrion Adams-some of my all-time favs. And a huge home victory: BYU-47 TU-55. Just wow!

That game had a late kickoff and as the clock ticked closer to midnight I joked that BYU would have to forfeit if the game drug into Sunday morning. I'm pretty certain we stopped them on 4th down and secured the victory at 12:00am.

It was much later than that. We didn't get home until 2:00AM. I think the game ended closer to 1:00AM.

Are you sure? I know it was 12 years ago but I've always thought that game ended at straight up midnight (thus keeping the Mormons from playing on Sunday). Maybe you didn't get home 'til 2 because you were celebrating at the Buck.

Kickoff was at 8 pm. These games are long, but I doubt it lasted past midnight.

So just went to the box score to find elapsed time for the game...can't find it. BUT, BYU had almost 700 yards of offense along with 138 yards in penalties and 5 turnovers. BYU was loaded with NFL talent that year too. Austin Collie (who I think was the recipient of the devastating hit that caused the game sealing fumble/recovery by TU, Dennis Pitta was on that team as well.

He's probably never had a light beer either..... only drinks IPA's.
Well, that's not true. Bud Light was the unofficial official beer of the Boston Crusaders....we called it Sader-ade. Drove to NH on a Sunday just to buy like 8 cases for a party. Anyone who has been to NH knows they have state run liquor stores off the interstate, they're the size of Sam's or Costco and wall to wall alcohol. (Liquor stores in MA were closed on Sundays due to blue laws).

in my older years, I do prefer a craft but not an IPA. Belgian wheats (unfiltered) are my beer of choice these days
