The team they beat went 2-9 last year in fcs.
Whatcha think our record would have been at FCS? That’s not intended as a flame but we only had one FBS quality win last year. We might have struggled at that level as well for reasons that have nothing to do with the opposition. The game cited above could be very instructive. I’m surprised this game isnt even money.

Dumb. We wouldn’t have struggled in FCS. How stupid.

ESPN showed San Jose number 7 in the preseason worst ten. They haven't updated that. Not that I believe everything ESPN says.

I'm amazed how many people are picking San Jose in the Pick Em thread over on the conference board. I know people over there disrespect us, but I didn't know it was to that extent.

We had -73 yards rushing. Most teams should be able to at least fall forward to the LOS. We were bottom barrel offensively in the country last week. Its not surprising people think well lose....and we still have Monty, so that's an L right there.

Taking this game out of the equation, the conference board, in general, has more idiots than our board (and that’s saying something).

You realize the bad snaps cost us rushing yards? We didn’t actually run backwards 73 yards. That’s a dumb stat the ncaa should change.

-73 rushing yards that included several sacks, and poor snaps, oh and I think the blocked punt (recovered by TU) goes down as a (-) rush. The "team" had -40 rushing yards due to the blocked punt and a bad snap out of the endzone. Smith had another -32 due to sacks. I think he had two sacks worth -16 on back to back plays.

Tulsa is a 6.5 favorite on the road based on what the nation saw of the Tulsa defense on Friday night.

You wouldn't normally consider game two as a "must win" situation...But this is exactly that. IMO, the result of this game will chart the course of the season.

Yes. And that's more to the point. We couldn't complete a snap, even near the QBs, twice.
You have a point, while they are not rushing yards, neither are they indicative of a polished offence. Maybe they need a separate category "yards oops." Even without the yards oops, our rushing game wasn't much.

While driving back I wanted to call into Mark Packer's show, but i knew I would never get in. He brought up the stat of our rushing yards, like he basically just read it on the ticker and our running backs were all taking a knee or running backwards.

Our defense legit deserved a helmet sticker. Our offense and a special teams miscue handed them 12 points. Not just gave them an opportunity for 12 points, literally placed it right in their wallet.

The fact we only lost by 21 is being way undervalued in my opinion. Im legit excited if we can move the football a little bit this year.

Really they need to break it up. Rush yards, sack yards, yards lost. Subtract from offensive yards for total yards. That would give an accurate portrayal of the offense. Honestly sacks should be subtracted from passing yards anyway.

Yeah, a loss here and I would have Monty flying seperate back to Tulsa. Give the interim title.to our DC and start looking for a new coach and line the milkman up to be on the staff.

Agreed. I still think the potential for a good year is there, but lose here? I’ll be 100% done.

It’s not good, but it’s not bad. We really didn’t run the ball much by our standards. I don’t think many teams will be able to run against MSU

we have a pretty thoughtful board. If not I would not waste the money.

Way to roll on the negativity train . Mr Couch attributed for over half of those minus yards .
