I mean wouldn’t you rather him say this to the media than something like “yeah they’ll probably whip our *** haha”

MSU had the best run defense last year.

But we put close to 200 rushing yards on Texas last year who was top 25-30 against the rush.

Taylor may be talking some trash but he has a pretty good idea of what a good offensive line looks like. We'll have to wait and see, but I would imagine completing some passes for positive plays will only help a run game that has been very good every year Monty has been here.

Is it possible our offense is a lot better than they're showing in scrimmages/practices and maybe our defense is off the chart good and making them look bad?

Yes. I think our D is good but our offense has been running the same 3-4 plays during anything open to the public.

In fairness as an MSU guy here he wasn’t asked specifically about getting 200 against MSU but in general over the course of the season. Averaging that as a team. So, yeah I’m not sure id read much into it. And I don’t think our guys need any bulletin board material to spin it that way either so this is pretty much over exaggerated by our media here.

Besides, what else is he supposed to say ya know? I look forward to seeing him and Brooks. They seem like good weapons to have. It isn’t impossible to run against us. Some teams had good success.

I’m just hoping our HC/OC’s predictable play calling, and playing upperclassmen even if younger players are better, doesn’t crush that confidence.

Not very smart, you need to keep your mouth shut when your the underdog, that's how you go out and suprise people.

Super lame. I love the swagger and confidence.
There is a difference between being confident and ready to go then poking a bear and giving them even more motivation to come out and dominate. They are a top 5 defense already, all I know is talk is cheap, get out there and show it.

It's already been established that he didn't make that statement about Mich. St, and it was about what he would do during the season. Do you expect him to say we're both going to run like crap this season?

Never said that, but you can see what the paper there is trying to do

What kind of a response is that? Yes you can see what they are trying to do, that is obvious. That is why I questioned your saying 'it wasn't very smart...'

I was saying I never said anything about me wanting them to be negative about the season like you made me sound like. My point being is that when you are a big underdog like we are, it's best to keep things quiet.
