Lots of love for the AAC this season. He's projecting around 5 teams to make it into the tourney this year and we're his sleeper. I'm getting excited for October and we haven't even started FB season yet!

I can’t argue with where he places us although I think he has Memphis and Temple too high. If the team gels as I hope we could be in the top 3 fighting for the title. I think that 6th place projection is kind of a worst case scenario.

6th is the highest I've seen us picked so far. Most people seem to have us 7th-10th.

When you look at these teams, The American is anything but a mid-major. Five or six in the tourney is not unrealistic, if you could take the politics of the selection committee out of the formula. There are going to be wars every night in this league, which should build excitement. I believe if The American gets the media play it deserves this season more people around the nation will tune in and the league offices marketing push of this league being a "Power Conference" might very well stick. Should be exciting!

The AAC has to win some big OOC games or make an impact. This needs to be the year.

I, too, am very excited. I think we are going to be really good this year. And the conference is going to be excellent, all the new coaches, except Penny, are proven coaches that’ll improve their teams right away.

Penny very likely will have Memphis improved, simply because of the talent he “recruited”.

Let’s fast forward to October!!! (We can slow down the fast forward for football game days)

The AAC will struggle this year compared to last for media recognition imo. I don’t see a top 10-15 team. Those team get a conference pub. A couple of borderline top 25 squads and a handful of bubble teams don’t garner much headlines or prime time games. We need some big OOC wins and then a team or two to go deep in March.
