We will have to move up to at least a 6 seed, & probably a 5 seed to get in the NIT.

The NIT averages 11 automatic bids given out each year to lower rated conference regular season champions that didn’t win their conference tournament. These NIT “Auto-bids” will take all the 7 & 8 seeds, & sometimes the 6 seeds & some 5 seeds.

The problem is that the NIT gives auto-bids to conference champions that don't make the NCAA field. Right now, they are projecting 10 NIT auto-bids, which leaves only 22 at-large slots to fill.

According to bracketmatrix.com, Tulsa is listed in "Other teams considered."

How are the at larges for the NIT evaluated? Is their a teamsheet like the NCAA? Or, do they just use RPI? Advanced Stats?

Why am I seeing OSU being a low seed in the NIT when they are significantly behind us in RPI? I'm guessing they must be using a team sheet?

It looks like there were 10 auto bids given last year, but a 20-11 (80 RPI) Richmond team from the A10 with only one decent win (against Rhode Island) went to the NIT. They were 4th place in the A10

Some of this crap is so shady. Personally, I don’t think a team with an under .500 confer nice record should be eligible for the NCAA tournament. OSU has a ton of good wins in the Big XII...but they still finished under .500 at 8-10 meaning they had a bunch of bad losses in conference. Same with OU...finished under .500. If you’re crap in your own conference you shouldn’t get to show your crap off in the NCAA tournament...or NIT

Osu shows why you can’t schedule teams below #300. Beat teams in the 200 range and you’re fine. Below 300 and the RPI is skewed.

OU and TU are almost the exact opposite, we started off rather slowly but then picked up steam towards the end of the season, whereas OU started off hot and now the wheels have fallen off. Between OU, OSU, and Tulsa, any of those 3 could beat the other imo

There are teams lining up to play to play OU in the first round of the tourney right now. They’ve won two games since January.

I think it depends on what the other bubble teams do. Wouldn’t be shocked to see OU or OSU in the play-in game.

If it comes down to OSU vs OU for an at large; based on the blinded resume from the broadcast, OSU placing 8 OU 9 in Big XII and OSU 2-1 head to head seems like OSU would get the nod.

OU is a one man team and that one man hit the wall about 3-4 weeks ago. With regard to TU, we’ve got 7 guys who could be the leading scorer any given game.

Maybe Arizona State? They were ranked #3 in the nation at one point this season but have lost 5 out of their last 6 and finished 2 games under .500 in the PAC12.

I think it depends on whether Boise St beats Nevada and whether Tulsa wins the AAC. Both of those would knock a couple out.
