I drink from the Gatorade cooler of Wojcik snark, but honestly, I think it’s kind of like the rule they have about not putting Coach and Mad Dog on the screen. The guy had serious mental health issues it turns out. That doesn’t excuse or justify anything, but there are number of posters on this board who obviously have similar issues. Sometimes they should be called out, but at the end of the day, with the exception of Bigzit, I hope they all get their act together and have productive careers. And I can’t say anything different for Douglas. I hope he gets his act together and I will probably say something nice.
Now, if ECU runs a zone, I will point that out, but contrary to lore on this board, the rear admiral used a zone to get us a CBI title. I may ask if he had Ray Reese coach free throws if he acts up. But I don’t think he should get that much crap. I really hope it works out for him. He has talent.

I agree 100% with this. Now your previous post I get too but this has always been a karma thing to me. He didn’t learn his lesson the first time. Then he took it out on CoC and us instead of taking a deep breath and figuring out his professional life. I hope he ends up in southwest (bleeeeeeep) Tulsa.
I get all that. I just think everyone involved benefits from looking forward.
Now, if I shake hands with him, I might point it’s an honor to shake the hand that shook Coach K’s hand. And then I might say “Oh my bad, you aren’t Rick Couri.” There’s a lot of potential material.
But I think the point is we all need to move on. He effed up. I hope he gets it together.
I could ask him for an interview, but I wouldn't be able to use any of the quotes. They'd all be filled with **** or $(&*#^. In all seriousness though, I actually thought about it. But my guess is he'd either say no, or he'd curse me out for the 50th time. So I decided to leave it alone.
I'd be interested to know if Kelly Hines even asked for an interview with him. If she did, I'm sure he declined. He's not even mentioned in the game preview in the paper today until the very last graf. And of course she used the ole' "winningest coach in program history" line.
I'll give Doug one thing and move on. He brought in Uzoh, Jordan, Hurtt, and that douche Clarkson. Arguably the four most talented players in our program over the last 15 years.

Agree. He's in the running for Sixth Man award. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that one.

If Coach or Mad Dog thought they could run a Division 1 program and took real money to try and do so, then they'd be fair game too. So long as they are eccentric fans, the same rules don't apply.

You can't pretend you are a big boy and then cry whenever you are expected to play big boy games. Facing grief for failures and from former fans is part of the package. I'd feel bad if he was a graduate assistant or a $36k a year high school teacher playing coach in the evenings... but those don't apply.

Barring a Lamar-like collapse or ECU coming out in Illinois State jerseys, I see a win, but probably more like 7-8 than 13-15. I have pondered seriously (cat) and decided to applaud and boo Wojick at the same time. I liked his wife who actually had a friendly personality. Any noise the posters make will be heard among the 100s in attendance.
That’s all fair. But the man had a major fall. I don’t see much humor in dwelling on some things that were symptoms. There’s a way to have fun today that is respectful of him and his family. I hope he cracks a smile, even if he probably won’t talk to anyone and few will reach out to him.
Now when Keith Burns came back to town, that was a different story of a jack *** who deserved to be called out. But Woj did some good things and some not good things. I think we should be respectful.
Long term yeah. Uzoh had a triple double keeping the PG spot war, for Kyle Lowry. I think Uzoh could have had a lot of success had he been given a true chance.
That’s a lot of the NBA. There’s a lot of politics played for the last roster spots. How else would Kyle Singler still be in the league?
Ben got a real shot imo with the Nets his first year in the league. Took care of the ball but didn't shoot well...42% FG 37% Three 59% FT in about 11 mpg. He played 22mpg during a short stretch for the Raptors but shot the ball poorly. Lowry came back and he was gone.
