I think many on this board are in for a shock.

***in a negative light.... tulsa's skill is not up to par with top 1/2 of league. the aac will be so freakin' tough this year. way different than last year (which was good). this year will be night and day.

Not sure what to expect but I do agree the AAC will be stronger. I think will depend on our ability to stretch the defense. Hope Shaq's new shot is on with help from freshman.

Outside the top 3 we are as talented as anybody. We have a huge advantage with our experience and cohesiveness as a defensive unit. I expect this advantage to serve us well. We finish in the top three imo.

Agreed and if we can get some attitude from Dre and Swannegan inside without the stupid fouls we will be just fine. We weren't that far off from the top last year. The biggest question will be can we stretch the D with someone other than Woodard?

Zit...you're a negative troll. Go live under a bridge somewhere

Cincy and SMU's length was an issue for us last year but besides those two teams we seemed to be fine.

You're a year early, zit. Just sit back and enjoy this season first.

They sure need to win big this year. If Haith's track record is any indication, things will drop off significantly next year once he is using his own guys.

If CCT and Sagarin are correct, then we need one upset and to win the games we should... and we dance!

Does playing SMU have any bearing on the RPI since they aren't eligible for anything or will they be ranked in the Polls?

Yes. The are an interesting problem. They will boost rpi but not take up a spot on selection Sunday.

I'm interested to see how a team with no hopes of the post season is playing come February and March. One would think it would be very easy to pack it up as the grind of the season sets in.

I'm curious to see what it does to their attendance. They were packing that place in last year.

You might think that, but I have a feeling Moore and Kennedy are going to want to beat the daylights out of everyone and when they're 27-3 at the end of the regular season to tell everyone to suck it. And you will get the Andy Katz's and Dick Vitale's of the world spouting off about how this only punishes kids who weren't involved. They continue to not think about it from the right angle...while the players on the court maybe weren't directly involved in any violation, they certainly benefited from the additional good players who may have been slated to come to the program, they benefited from Frazier being on the court, and the program continues to reap the benefits of NCAA/NIT appearances while using players that should have never been there. You can't isolate the cause and effect to just the individual when a team sport is concerned and that's continually what they try to do to fit their narrative.

Outlook on this season....the game Tuesday vs. Wichita State could be a key game for us. Hope we come out pumped and ready to play and maybe we get the early shock of the season (no pun intended). After that it could be a very nice pre-conference schedule for us. I know there is a trip to Stilly but I am not expecting much from OSU this season (obviously the Big XII media isn't either). We have a very favorable non-conference schedule and it's not the SWAC loaded schedule Wojcik relied on to build up the wins (still can't believe we have to acknowledge him as the winningest coach in TU history )

Vitale wants Larry Brown to be banned for life. There seems to be almost universal media disdain for SMU. I'd be surprised if there is any positive coverage of them other than from Dallas media. They remind me of Fresno back in the day.

Our non-conference SOS is projected to be 113. I was actually disappointed in the scheduling this year. It increases the significance of the Wichita State game because that may be our only shot a non-conference top 50 win.

We also have shots at FSU and Oregon State who should both be top 50

With help from their old pals Mr. Coors and Mr. Miller.
It was more than beer...... the game I went to last year was attended by President George W Bush and his wife, also Ross Perot Jr. and his wife. I have heard Dallas celebs like Troy Aikmen and Tony Romo have been sighted at games. Larry Brown absolutely made SMU basketball a must see in Dallas.

Now what happens this year I don't know. I hope the AAC strips SMU of its Championship. It would be the right thing to do.

GO TU!!!!!

KenPom pretty much nailed it. Finished the regular season at 46 Tulsa 20-10 (12-6).
