Exactly. When I reply to a sUcKs fan I google their username beforehand to see their last few posts on "that other site" and typically find a bunch of accusations of our coach, program, and university. Never do I see them looking in the mirror and admitting all the ills of their program. If I were to see rationality and respectability in their last few posts then I would respond in a very kind manner. Sadly sUcKs fans don't act that way. The mindset is sickening and corrupting. Based on history, I'd trust someone who just spent 6 months in the pen over a sUcKs fan.

That's sort of a bizarre perspective on a program like Louisville which has so many active successes, academically as well as athletically. The Year Of The Cardinal must have put indelible permanent dents in the foreheads of needier UK fans who wish they could lord this bizarre concept of superiority over a program who frankly doesn't give a dam about them.
This weekend, I plan on some hot free watching of Louisville's #2 nationally-ranked baseball team open their season with returning first round draft pick Kyle Funkhouser leading off the season. We return 7 starters and our two primary pitchers to the team that lost in extra innings the game before Omaha last season. Our baseball team has 5 preseason All Americans playing on it. Anyone invested in actual athletic history may very well want to check out what might be one of the most loaded rosters in recent NCAA history. Corey Ray may very well be this season's #1 pick.
Louisville has so many well-attended sports played in the best facilities in America it must truly hurt any UK fan who actually takes the time to give the width and breadth of what we accomplish an honest look.
Congratulations on football. Ha ha. Oh yeah, and the hire of such a clean basketball man. You guys set examples of propriety daily. Listening to you lecture - one of the dirtiest programs in basketball history, ol - is always so refreshing. It's like bathing in crude oil.

A little presumptuous, are we? "You", my man, remain a voice of one - and a not very vital one to our discussion. A larger question revolves around why you would even bother, fully announcing your fan hood with your screen name, as well as your outbursts of insanely willful and ignorant "pity". The attitude misses any relevance by so far, it leaves your slug trail traces as you scrape your butt over our carpet.
If there is any pity to be had here, it is for your own sake as you dive into matters like a fresh pledge, all eager to go to work for UofL because you have our best interests at heart and all. In most galaxies, that is called hypocrisy, but we know it far better as simple duplicity.

Both boards talk about the other fan base. The UK board seems to have much more activity on the whole, so there are a lot more non-Louisville threads.

The question every Louisville fan has about UK fans posting in these threads - and particularly those threads dealing with the scandal and the repercussions - is the level of insincerity involved. I;m afraid a sudden rush of UK fans all admitted like a small tsunammi at the same time and - to a man - picking and choosing comfortable fallback positions replete with all kinds of excellent "civility" - simply defines you better than before. It makes it even more impossible to trust you.
Take a few weeks off. The fresh air will do you good.

To my recollection, Zipp doesn't throw out blind insults of UK. He gives his opinions which are normally based in reality - if anything, his behavior is akin to a debate team who is assigned a side of an argument. In his case, his side is that UK isn't very good - and he does a good job backing it up. I've gone back and forth with him on many subjects (and he has always been respectful) and don't recall any childish insults. There are plenty of posters in both fanbases who obviously lack the intellectual prowess to carry on an adult conversation, but zipp is not one of those people.
Personally, I don't give a damn whether you're respectful or not. I take care of my own business and have never complained to moderators about LPT fans posting here, although I understand the gripe from U of L fans on their own message board. I actually like the transparency of having LPT fans show their true colors when they post here and see if the mods are OK with them in their natural state. This applies to LPT fans and any other fanbase.
Respect is earned. An LPT fan gets no respect out of me because he has posting privileges, nor really does anyone else. I'll readily admit that an LPT fan is coming in the door behind the eight-ball. We already have our stereotypes of you before you open your mouth, stereotypes based on many years and hundreds of experiences. If you can handle that, then by all means open your mouth.

I don't understand why UK fans can't understand this. It's a Louisville board. There are going to be plenty of insults slung, plenty of stereotypes assumed, and plenty of vitriol. If you can't hack it, leave. If you can, there is a subset of U of L posters here who will have an adult discussion with you. Cue, Senore, Zipp come to mind.
I respectfully--believe it or not--submit that you find me tiresome because I'm relentless. It has nothing to do with my anti-LPT perspective. You don't wanna engage an opponent that you can't easily conquer, which is in essence why I don't have LPT posting privileges.
Truth be told, my jabs at LPT are just a sideshow. As John points out, it's all just recreational debate. The LPT jabs just provide a little added personality for better or worse.
I use the arena debate as an analogy... I didn't come at that issue originally as an arena hater. But many U of L fans so liked me in that role that I took it and embraced it. I was closer to that "hate" pole than the other end of the spectrum for sure. But people in this world seem to like extremists, I guess because they're easy to pigeonhole and argue with. Whatever gets us talking.
Some people like John have mostly figured me out--though not many have on the LPT side of things. My experience is that figuring someone out is the first step to easily dealing with them. Or just find me "tiresome", that's OK too.

Cats192, I'm a UK fan. The people here know that, some of them overlook it and are cool with me, some of them treat me like I'm an inbred hillbilly - my point is, it's all good. It's a U of L board. They can act however they want and have every right to.

Short answer...in large part because it evokes a response, a lot like the LPT moniker. When one kid teases another, the kid doing the teasing only does it because the one being teased responds. It's all about psychology that basic, and there's no fanbase with more "basic psychology" than the LPT fanbase. It's almost sub-evolutionary.
Separate yourself from your LPT roots, you gotta admit that's a funny picture.
