I have no idea who you are or what your relation is with Savage fam.
On the field I saw a talented QB (Kelly loved him) getting beat-up behind an atrocious line - could not block for run either.
The stats/injuries are real
The tension between coaches and Savage fam was also real and in media.
There is no question the Savage chapter ended badly no matter what he said years later.

"Schiano recruited Chas Dodd hard, making two recruiting visits to South Carolina to try to woo the young quarterback. The Knights obviously needed a backup to Savage; Dodd was awarded the starting job mid-season.

It has been speculated that Tom Savage's father was unhappy at the way his son was treated. He stated that Rutgers "went with the kid [Dodd] when he had the hot hand," but said that the starting job "should have been" reclaimed by Savage when Dodd started to slow down. It has also been speculated that the father had "gotten into it" with some fans who were booing and deriding Tom during a game."

How do you just jump to the conclusion that "Gs didn't want the distraction" ? And then say it's obvious? The fact that it's a completely different offense doesn't factor into this? Hey maybe you're right, I just tend to go with what makes sense to me..
I think that is clear enough. GW got pounded and knocked out of the game. What possible reason could there be to bring back what appeared to be a concussed QB? I could see said QB wanting back in when he saw his backup succeeding where he failed... but I see zero reason why coaches should have allowed him back in. Given that, what explanation do you have? Not wanting a QB controversy could very well have been the answer.

Savage was destroyed by the idiotic offensive system. In 2009, Syracuse's Marone figured it out and destroyed it. In 2010, a lot of other teams caught on. We basically had a QB take the snap and turn his back on the LOS.. not being able to watch blitzers or receivers.. then 5-7 yards behind center he would either hand off to an RB standing still or turn to throw, then trying to see the field and pressure and everything.... it was pure idiocy. For years I blamed Flood for the blocking scheme.. eventually Flood defenders here convinced be (with their insider knowledge) that this was not the case.. that it is our current OC who was responsible. I still fear any OC that could make such a foolish decision can do so again, but I pray he has learned from it.

Last word twosome-----Being on the sideline and reporting what you think is not an opinion? You're only digging deeper on your confusion, cemented by the loud last word conduct.

And charging bias to indicate I favor AS as a qb to be second strong, when that was nowhere said. Was indicated that we did not have definitive data, and since youre pretty clearly anti AS, you paint anyone questioning whether we have enough info on the topic as pro AS. It's the usual weak logic and misunderstanding pattern. that is repated and which I'm sure will produce a last word response.

FWI AS seemed like a good kid and teeamate and wish him well. Not sure why the need to denigrate him and try to creat a for or against situation.

And yet you didn’t even know who was coaching the QB you think got screwed. Or what type of o he was transferring to
That's right pal. I had no idea who the Wash State coach was, where he came from, or what type of O he ran or runs.
I posted on Sheppard & his ability as I saw it. You posted about the other stuff. I always could judge talent & IMO Sheppard looked good & I don't believe he got a fair shake at RU.

BTW your grammar is pretty poor. Really need to sharpen up there.

"During his weekly (and last) meeting with reporters last Monday, Savage said that he was "knocked out cold," but didn't say that he had a concussion. Schiano had downplayed the possibility of a concussion, saying that the quarterback was "dinged" and "foggy." But Wednesday he revealed that Savage had suffered a concussion.

When asked how he can tell if Savage could absorb a hit like the one he took, Schiano said: "Well, you don't, but that's why you use medical protocol."

There ya go. It was crazy that Wimsatt came back in after being knocked out of the game because the game was out of reach and the backup was doing well.. and, as this referenced story about Savage shows, you just cannot be sure what the risk is to the injured player. He may have been able to fool the sideline medical professional to come back in but he was off the field for awhile.. the hit was big enough to do that to him.. so, why risk it? WHY? I could see why Wimsatt himself would want to risk it with his backup out-performing him. I could even see the OC risking it because he prefers run-option QBs rather than dropback passing and doesn't want to see the team succeed doing drop-back with the backup QB... but there never seemed to me a completely reasonable and innocent explanation as to why Wimsatt was allowed to return to that game. I still consider it a black mark on Schiano's record. But back in the stone age I was probably concussed in HS ball and kept playing.. so maybe my brain is still scrambled.

It’s not really relevant. He took a hit hard enough to need to come out of the game and his back up did well. Unfortunately, our D gave up a TD on the ensuing possession taking the game out of reach in the 4th quarter. There was no football rationalization for bringing GW back in the game.

If your Simon’s parents it’s a black mark for sure. As a coach trying to maintain team chemistry for the rest of the season and consider potential future recruiting implications it arguably was the right decision. We weren’t winning that game regardless. As discussed previously - Simon’s game had plenty of flaws too and he likely benefitted in that one series from Wisconsin’s D mostly prepping for Wimsatt. A longer term shift likely wasn’t going to make the team better. But questions about whether or not Evan deserved to take over could’ve impacted the cohesion of the team negatively and ultimately hurt us.

All this said - the bigger issue I had with the decision (even though I understood it) was how blatant it was based on Wimsatt’s style of play. With time not on our side, we brought back in a running QB.

Good point, but we were not talking about Savage.

Wow, that bar is really low if being a warm body in a mini camp qualifies as screwing up. He hasn't even made a practice squad yet.

Nova was invited to a mini-camp, wasn’t he?

I don’t think your logic is entirely fair. If we were talking about Evan Simon not getting a fair shake vs Wimsatt and then going on to have that success, it would be different. Vedral earned and deserved the QB one role in 2021 and had he not suffered what turned into a career ending injury, he would’ve been invited to mini-camps too. Noah was an experienced junior, and Snyder had redshirted 2020 (Covid year). Cole never really competed with GW for a starting spot. It’s probably safe to say he saw the writing on the wall and left because he didn’t think he’d get a fair shake. But that’s different from what your suggesting.

The more accurate statement is that Snyder hasn't made the Lions (or anybody else's) 90 man off-season roster yet. Practice squads aren't set until after the final preseason cuts.

But yeah, getting a tryout is nice, but unless it results in a contract it's really no big deal.

EDIT: Per Wikipedia, on May 18 Cole Snyder was signed by the Edmonton Elks of the CFL. Whether he will make their final roster is unknown. If he does, I am confident that we will all be duly notified.😉
Took a deep dive here. Probably did not catch all the QBs on the rosters, but going back to Teel's last year at Rutgers, here is the list of QBs with passing stats from ESPN stats. I count 20 QBs.

2008-Teel, Natale, Paul-Etienne
2009- Savage, Natale, Lovelace
2010-Dodd, Savage
2011-13- Dodd, Nova
2014- Nova, Laviano
2015- Laviano, Rettig
2016-Laviano, Rescigno, Oden
2017-Bolin, Rescigno, Lewis
2018-Sitkowski, Rescigno
2019-Langan, Sitkowski, Snyder
2020-Vedral, Sitkowski, Langan
2021-Vedral, Simon, Snyder, Langan
2022-Simon, Wimsatt, Langan
2023-Wimsatt, Simon, Sheppard
2024-Kaliakmanis

You guys can poo poo making a mini camp all you want, or for that matter getting "drafted" to a CFL team. Maybe that is so for most teams, but at Rutgers, the QB graveyards of college football, either one is a major accomplishment. Maybe that's one thing @ashokan and I can agree on in this thread. Our QB recruiting and/or development has been terrible.

Fun fact. Going back to 2008, 2024 was the first year only one QB recorded passing stats. Maybe we have an NFL draft pick (or mini camp invitee) in 2025?
That's 20 QBs since Teel graduated. One was drafted, two received mini-camp invites (Nova and Snyder) and one made a CFL roster (preseason-Snyder)

That still doesn’t mean Snyder should’ve been a serious contender to beat Vedral out as QB1 in 2020 or 2021 which had to be the context of your original post (since Snyder never really competed with GW).

Did you try to beat out the Amazing Kreskin and lose? Because that is not at all what I was getting at.
The point is, in the history of RU QBs going back to Teel, there has been one other mini-camp invite and no players drafted to the CFL, a point several here derided. The latter is at least playing at the next level. I should add Rescigno went on to play on some team in Italy. But that is it for 20 QBs. Vedral did not, injury or no injury. Gleeson was locked onto to GW, and Snyder was not going to get a fair shake. Unless GW makes an amazing 180 and puts it all together, I doubt he will see time at the next level as a QB. Maybe as a TE. Nothing against GW- he was a nice young man who gave his best. Other QBs transferred out to chase their QB glory--Lewis, Rettig, Oden? None got a sniff at the next level. Keyboard warriors can deride that all they want. But coming from Rutgers, that is about a 1 in 10 odds. I'm done here on this point. Never said Cole Snyder was the next Johnny Unitas or anything like that. He beat the crappy RU QB odds.

Coincidentally, vedral had some wheels, the coaches wanted to lean on his running abilities because the team lacked talent. Having a QB that is also a running threat can help mask deficiencies on offense..schoano was focused on winning and establishing a culture and identity. A QB running for his life trying to throw for 300 yards to 2 star receivers isn't the identity he wanted for his rebuild. I can't believe there are still people advocating for Evan Simon even after that season turned out to be a successful one. Evan Simon had multiple starts and proved that he wasn't ready yet. Maybe he's ready now at Temple, we wish him well. But there is no scenario where he was a better option for Rutgers that year nor was he entitled to an opportunity to start that year. This isn't little league, if his parents were upset "go play intramurals brother" lol

Evan Simon had as serviceable year, except he was under constant duress in under 1.5 seconds for nearly every snap.

Noah's running stats
2020- 68/193 yds (2.8 ypc)
2022- 102/297 yds (2.9 ypc)

Cole Snyder showed similar wheels in limited action at RU and post RU, running for 323 yds and 4 TDs in his final year.

Vedral wasn't Johnny manziel but he was mobile and could get away from the rush. I don't remember much about cole Snyder but I remember when he got in the game I thought to myself, get him out of there..maybe he did have some wheels but he was not ready to start in the big ten..

the offensive line was still patch work and Evan Simon would have had to run for his life without the threat of taking it to the house..

All I’m saying is that at the time when Snyder made the decision to move on, Vedral (and nobody else) was the clear frontrunner to start the season at QB1 on the depth chart and not because of favors. You can have all the doubts you want about any post college allcolades Vedral might’ve gotten if not for the injury but the bottom line is - we would’ve been signifantly better in 2022 if he stayed (if he didn’t lose his feeling in his hand for the second half of the Nebraska game and remained in the game we don’t lose that game for starters).

But the bottom line is Snyder chose not to battle Simon and GW for the back up role and could’ve just as easily looked to leave if there was no Gavin. Not everyone wants to sit out and Vedral had a red shirt year and technically could’ve played in 2023 if not for that career ending injury. It wasn’t really like we missed the boat on Snyder and don’t give him a fair shake. The QB version of him at Buffalo in 2022 wasn’t better than Vedral was for us before he got hurt - mini camp future or not.

There ya go. He may have been able to fool the sideline medical professional to come back in but he was off the field for awhile.. the hit was big enough to do that to him.. so, why risk it? WHY? I still consider it a black mark on Schiano's record. But back in the stone age I was probably concussed in HS ball and kept playing.. so maybe my brain is still scrambled.

Not too far back in the day concussions were graded by Colorado Medical Society guidelines that had 4 levels of concussion.

Grade I concussion without loss of consciousness called for 15 minutes out of a game
Grade II concussion without loss was one week out of play.
A first concussion with a few seconds loss of consciousness was one month out of play.
A first concussion with several minutes of unconsciousness was 6 months free of contact

Before the hysteria most guys with a dinged knot would get a few minutes out of a game.
When the concussion hysteria hit, the levels were done away with.
I knew a local school nurse who told me 100 kids from 1100 total HS were kept from sports for a month.
Their minor dings were treated as more severe concussions
While the concussion scare was escalating, concussion research groups said there was no connection between HS football and dementia.

I thought football was being targeted after 2010 because it was deemed a sport of "masculine hegemony."
There were also plans to escalate medical protocols and lawsuits
Many parents really thought their kids would get dementia from HS football
A local HS lost half its football team because mommies made sons (mostly white) quit
By the end of the pandemic the missing kids were back but the hysteria really altered the sport for 10 years or so and that was not an accident imo

Only that one game - specifically that series.
The fan base and locker room would’ve been spinning. Distractions that team trying to break through definitely didn’t need. That was the reason. It had to be. Not some favor to Gavin. But there was no football reason to do what he did. Evan Simon had earned that garbage time series on that particular day and a strategic decision was made to put Gavin back in.

I do agree with you on a more wholistic view that there were just as many concerns to Evan’s game as Gavin’s which made this approach understandable. I don’t agree at all that Greg was rigging the whole thing all along so Wimsatt would be groomed no matter what he did. I don’t believe that because I do believe absent the injury Noah would’ve started all of 2022 and if he wanted to come back in 2023 he would’ve been welcomed.

From what I heard and read, Snyder was given the word at the end of 2021 that GW was the priority and would be ahead of him for the 2022 season. There was no point in Snyder staying to battle to be the 3rd string behind a purported 4 star who was getting the nod ahead of him with little experience and who ultimately washed out. IMO, that was a bad judgment call by Gleeson. Snyder was a more talented and complete QB than GW, who had terrible accuracy at Rutgers, and he was worse at Kentucky. That is all I am saying. You keep extending this to other things about Vedral or competing against Simon, which is not relevant to the point I was making. The only point is GW proved to be inferior as a QB. Maybe he will shock the world at Jacksonville State, but I highly doubt it.

I don't know if you guys aren't fans of schiano and just want to criticize something. But do you guys understand that the team did not have the infrastructure to run a passing offense? Didn't even have the infrastructure to support a rb like Pacheco who performed better in the NFL than at Rutgers.

A QB that can run helps a roster that lacks talent. His threat of running is like having an extra blocker in the game and forces pass rushers to remain disciplined, not just pin their ears back and rush upfield..

Cole Snyder may have been a better passer than vedral, Simon may have been a better passer than wimsatt but they were not better options for Rutgers football at that particular moment in time. Rutgers' roster is just now establishing the infrastructure required for passing offense. Took multiple years of oline and receiving prospects..

Okay maybe. But basically all your saying is GW turned out to be a recruiting bust which we already know, right? We convinced GW to give up his senior year to come to RU. One of our highest rated QB recruits ever. In 2021, Gavin throws one pass and it’s a bullet for a first down. The future looks bright for him at that time. Unless Greg was a complete jerk, what exactly would you expect him to say when Synder / Simon were asking about playing time after the 2021 season?

What I’m saying here is I don’t think it was that Snyder was mishandled - Greg was just honest about where things stood at that point in time and he chose to move on. What else would you have liked him to do that’s not Monday night quarterbacking? Obviously - Gavin turned out to be a bust and Noah suffered a freak injury that ultimately turned out to be career ending. If Noah was healthy in 2022 we probably don’t run Brown into the ground. Greg had no choice because Evan was too turnover prone and Gavin inaccurate. That season arguably would’ve gone differently if not for that injury - and no, not because Vedral was a super star. Simply because he could execute basic pass plays, wasn’t immobile and was a veteran who didn’t turn the ball over.

You would have a point if Vedral wasn’t in the picture, but that wasn’t the case. Greg wasn’t just saying Gavin is our prize recruit and we are playing him no matter what. He was saying - look, we have our senior veteran returning who started the past two years and brought in a recruit early from high school. There’s a good chance he earns the back up role. There was almost no path to playing time that season and Cole had used his red shirt. Situationally - there wasn’t much that could’ve been done.

I’m on your side on Greg. I don’t believe anything was mismanaged with Cole. Clearly - not even Simon was told that Gavin was a lock to be ahead of him in 2022. Evan was the day 1 starter against BC and got more reps than Gavin. That was before Gavin got hurt. Reflecting back, there was nothing that could’ve been done differently at that time.

That said - I’m not buying your other point. Our receivers had no problem catching first drive pass plays that Gavin was able to execute. We didn’t throw often after the first drive because Gavin’s skill set did not allow for read adjustments and therefore keeping the ball on the ground gave us the best chance to win. Evan could throw a bit more accurately but his game had other limitations - his running ability was weak and he he wasn’t even a scrambler. He was not reliable when it came to taking care of the ball. Turnovers a problem (aka Nebraska loss). Ultimately, GW won the job because a) he was deemed the lesser of 2 sub
Optimal choices and b) all else equal, we wanted to show he was being given every chance to succeed.

The only thing to question was the decision not to go into the portal and recruit an AK / Vedral type, but again - there were longer term considerations at play. We didn’t want GW walking out without giving him ample opportunity to be successful at Rutgers. That would’ve had a negative impact on future recruiting. So again, I don’t think anything was really mishandled at QB other than we struck out with Gavin.

I think Flood and Ash killed our passing game. Yeah Nova had a great season his senior year but to get to that, Flood had to kill the QB competition which, I think, sent a signal to QBs to avoid Rutgers if you are not the chosen one.

Year after year, Rutgers slid into a run-first dismal offense where, if I were a passing game recruit.. WR or QB, I'd be hard-pressed to think I could be productive at Rutgers. We had some singular talents early.. like Colemanc and Caroo. I wonder how many of Nova's completes and TDs were just Caroo being covered and winning the ball anyway.

From 2017 - 2019 we never averaged 30 pass attempts and twice were under 23 pass attempts per game... why would recivers recruits see that and come to Rutgers? They you have completion percentage even taking from that.

A different angle re running QB like Wimsatt was.. why should he take away carries from RBs who run just as well as he does? I want my QB to complete passes so we can achieve a balanced offense.. not to turn good RBs into blockers or decoys.

not counting minor QB passes.. like 10 for Laviano in 2014.. just looking at main QBs.. first number will be total season passing plays/running plays

475/448 2011 470 PA split Dodd/Nova balanced run/pass O but only year with more pass attempts
392/420 2012 388 PA Nova - balanced O
442/450 2013 436 PS Nova/Dodd - balanced O
357/476 2014 327 PA Nova - run-first O.. 37.6 RPG and 27.5 PAG
336/462 2015 307 Laviano 25 Rettig - runt-first 39.2 vs 28.0
332/481 2016 163 Rescigno 145 Laviano - run-first 40.7 vs 27.7
275/427 2017 133 Bolin 100 Resigno 38 Lewis - run-first 36.4 vs 22.9
350/418 2018 273 Sitkowski 74 Resigno - closer to balanced.. 35.1 vs 29.2
278/450 2019 159 Langan, 68 Sitkowski 57 McClane Carter? (TTech xfer?) run-first 37.8 vs 23.2
316/338 covid year 2020 221 Vedral 81 Sitkowski balanced 37.6 R vs 35.1 P
394/495 2021 303 Vedral 28 ea Simon and Snyder - run heavy 38.4 vs 30.3

Passing under Flood was arguably as good as it’s ever been at Rutger. Flood’s offense (which was really just a continuation of Schiano 1.0) required a competent full back to succeed. Michael Burton more than fit that bill. Ash was simply a moron. He hired a coordinator who tried to execute his system with Flood’s players in year one.

No one convinced Wimsatt to enroll early. He copied what Ewers did so he could start collecting NIL sooner. Maybe that should have been the first red flag in hindsight. He’s done nothing but chase the money which is why he spent last year at Kentucky instead of somewhere he could potentially be the starter.

Flood’s recruiting left the WR room bare. Bo Melton was forced into the lineup as a starter his true freshman year when he needed a redshirt thanks to Flood’s great recruiting.

Flood wasn’t a good recruiter but it’s unfair to blame the issues Ash had on him. Ash chose to completely change everything about the program. Nobody can know what the offense would’ve been like if Flood had remained. His off court issues and mismanagement of the defense (relating those that) got him fired. But again - while Flood was head coach, the passing game was fine.

Tom might have been sorry for leaving his friends at RU but in 2010 he was getting beat to a pulp with vocally angry parents
The OL was bad in 2009 when Savage was knocked out (had a serious concussion) vs Florida International.

RU gave-up 8 sacks in 2006 and 11 in 2007 - 19 in two years.
In 2009 RU allowed 40 sacks..
Then in 2010 the OL was historically bad and set a D1 sacks allowed record at 61.
There was a drastic collapse of an OL that RU had failed to maintain
No top QB wants to play behind a hideous OL

Early in 2010 season savage was knocked from N, Carolina game with rib injury.
The following week he was knocked out of Tulane with hit by linebacker Trent Mackey on Tom's throwing hand .
Along with the injuries were the constant hits:
I know what a punchy and beat-up player looks like and in his last start Savage looked like a zombie

From October 2010 "You definitely take it personally when your starting quarterback goes down," Barbieri said. "It's not just the 13 sacks. You also have to take into account the hits he has taken. Those have been way too many."

All this was going on when concussion hysteria was peaking and Savage's parents were angry with Schiano and talking to the media. Schiano would not let Savage leave for Miami and a year latter the Savage drama was still in media

The great start to a QB career (frosh AA) crashed/burned because a 2006 Coach of the Year couldn't build a functioning OL. If Savage had taken an offer from PSU, Michigan, FSU, Georgia, TN he might have been a 1st rounder

Of course Savage's subsequent concussion susceptibility got worse and wrecked his NFL days
The 2010 OL was horrific. The 09 OL - not so much. The interior line had some issues-Ruch and Forst really needed direction on almost every play, and ryan B was sick most of that year. But you also had bookend NFL OT's. A god amount of those sacks were caused by Savage himself. He had a horrible pocket presence and often found himself directly in the path of where the OL was actually blocking their man. I remember the guys on the OL used to call him the "sack maker". I saw a couple of plays where the OL would make what they thought were great blocks, took their man out of the play and moved into a secondary block...only to find their first guy they thought they took out of the play actually sacked Tom being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And seeing the OL just shake their heads in frustration.

In 2010- Tom's head was messed up from day 1. And we have all heard why. But, it was also very surprising he didn't get the job back after coming back from injury.
I remember picking Kevin up from the airport and I told him that Dodd was starting over Savage. His first reaction was - WTF- that is an NFL QB. What the F is Greg thinking.

The writing was in the wall, he recruiting classes were not good after the Schiano impact wore off, the locker room was toxic, players arrested, etc. In hindsight, we should have listened to Hermann when she wanted to fire him. Only thing that wretch probably had right in her tenure.

Imo that team was not ready for a passing game. Dremel was the no. 1 receiver.. He barely saw the field this year. Even in the beginning of this year, this was not a good passing team. It wasn't until the second half of the season that you the passing infrastructure and as a direct result the quarterback begin to look big ten ready. Still has a little way to go but I think this coming year we will start to see a functional offense..

I agree about the locker room and the arrests. He needed to go. But that still doesn’t mean Flood’s system in the passing game was ineffective. Laviano may not have had Caroo to work with in 2016, but it’s not true that the wide out room had no talent. Andre Patton has recorded NFL stats. He was a senior with talent. Jamarion Grant was a stud. And that Harris kid was too. Complete waste of talent and management there. On defense - I completely agree with you. Floods left Ash with nothing due to the scandal. But the 2016 offense had no business being as bad as it was. Shame on Messinger for trying to implement his offense with a roster full of pro style players. And double shame on Ash for letting him. You are correct that the longer term pipeline particularly on OL that Flood left behind was concerning, but based on what happened in 2016, I don’t see how anything that went wrong on offense during the Ash tenure could be blamed on Flood.

This keeps getting thrown out as proof that that group of receivers must’ve been very bad. I guess maybe… but it sure seemed to me there were many plays where Jackson had broken free and the commentators would comment about Gavin overthrowing him or missing the read entirely. Gavin very rarely hit receivers in stride making it impossible for receivers like Jackson and Miller (I wonder how he would’ve done with Gavin under center) who excel at collecting yards after to rack up yards that way. I really don’t think we know the extent that poor receiver play hampered Gavin’s success vs Gavin holding back receivers with his inability to make plays and reliance on a limited pass play book. Look - Aaron Young caught 23 passes in 2020and 12 in 2021 before getting hurt. He only caught one in 2022. Gavin could not execute throws in the flats so those were not a part of the play book. Langhan’s usage went down too. So again - there may be some truth to what you say, but I do believe for the most part the problem was Gavin and the passing game just not clicking for whatever reason. Dremel has steady hands which is why Greg delegated him to fair catches. He was a good target choice for Gavin’s throws on the design plays because he was able to field Gavin’s darts. That ability isn’t necessarily directly correlated to overall skill as a wide out though in general. The hope is that a starting QB doesn’t throw so many of those ever.

Those receivers weren't good, Dremel was the best of them. Best route runner, best hands, probably the fastest as well as far as game speed. The receivers haven't been good at Rutgers up until the second half of last year. Miller would have performed well here any year because of the amount of targets he'd get.

But it's all speculation either way which is why I say going with wimsatt was the right choice because what isn't speculation is the amount of wins that team had. You can say with Evan Simon they would have beaten teams like Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State. But I can say you would lose those games as well as a game like Indiana without wimsatt at QB. If the known results continued the upward trajectory of the program, why second guess the proven strategy to speculate about unproven ones? You want to say they beat Michigan with Evan Simon at QB, maybe but it also may not have even been close at any point in the game with Evan Simon at QB. Anything you say about this will be speculation when the actual results are better than anything Rutgers had achieved in a while.

The record would have been the same regardless of who Greg choose. Both would have been carried by the defense and Monangai.

This thread is out of control, and both you guys are putting thoughts/words to my posts that are not there. I never said anything bad about Schiano in the process, unless you consider my saying Gleeson whiffed when he locked on Gavin criticism of Schiano. That is all.

Okay maybe. But basically all your saying is GW turned out to be a recruiting bust which we already know, right? We convinced GW to give up his senior year to come to RU.

Been saying that all along, but you guys want to turn it into a lot more and extrapolate a lot of fringe theories from my and other's posts. We disagree on Snyder being "mishandled." And that's OK. That's what makes a message board. You are not going to convince me otherwise. Woopty doo about GW "giving up" his senior year. And buying the farm on a single pass is foolish, and I doubt that was a deciding factor.

I've wasted more time in this thread than I wanted to. Have fun, and please don't extrapolate any more from my posts other than my thinking Snyder did not get a fair shot by Gleeson.

This thread is out of control, and both you guys are putting thoughts/words to my posts that are not there. I never said anything bad about Schiano in the process, unless you consider my saying Gleeson whiffed when he locked on Gavin criticism of Schiano. That is all.

What took you so long my friend? We'll see in a couple of years here. I'm personally ok with being wrong. Not the first time. For other to come back and admit it? Well we'll see. A good thread to revisit in 2027 (God willing).
