It’s a mess now
Stuck in Washington trying to fly into Newark. The flight I am on was originally scheduled for 11:00am…now scheduled for 7:15 pm. Thank goodness I’ve only been waiting a few hours. Can’t imagine sitting since like 9:00 am.

We've chosen to fly out of Philly(drive down from Howell) and just pay for valet parking. It made everything really easy and worth the money. Last time a few months ago out of Newark was a real hassle so we said let's try Philly,

Runway 4L/22R was shut down on April 15 for 60 days for resurfacing. Leaves just 1 main runway and if winds are favorable the shorter runway can be used for landings. Throw in the usual FAA issues and the usual EWR issues and you have a mess for probably 6 more weeks.

I am thinking of doing the same. I am always concerned the initial trip to something new.

My brother travels out of Philly every week so I should have him guide me.

The valet really takes a lot of the hassle out of it. I've got too much sh*t to think about to worry about where to park. Sign up on the app, pull up to the gate your flight is leaving from, they take it from there. Returning flight, they already have when your arriving and your car is there or you have to wait 5 mins. IMO, It was well worth the money.

IDK, here now. Our 8 pm flight out is on time. Flightaware has long delays in inbound, but not much for outbound. Our inbound to EWR is on time. Hope the jinx does not kick in.
Normally if flights are late inbound the results have to be late outbound flights. Same jets new routes.

Sounds great. I usually use a car service but was thinking of changing that.

Flew out this morning to West Palm Beach. Pilot said expect 1-2 hour delay on runway. We got out there and never stopped rolling and took off ahead of time.

Now I am really worried about flying back on Monday.

I predict a mess on May 7 when a large percentage of customers don’t realize you need to bring your passport for domestic travel if you do not have a real ID or passport. It will be a **** show.
This is going to be a disaster lol

I flew out to LAX 7 am Wednesday morning no problem at all. Heard from a friend it was a mess later on that day.
Took the red eye home last night and landed early this morning. No problems there either

I had a 6am flight from LAX to EWR and was delayed 4.5 hrs yesterday. A coworker of mine was delayed 5 hrs coming from Chicago on Monday. EWR is a mess. United was saying that EWR is only allowing 22 flights to land per hour.

I was just looking at that valet parking the other day. Is it as easy/safe as they make it sound?

Since air traffic control for Newark is based in Philadelphia (at least that is what was said on the news tonight) does te arc problem affect there too?

Jinxed. Boarded late, by about 40 mins. Nodded off and woke up to see 2 hours after scheduled takeoff we were taxiing on the runway. Thought the plane was going to take the interstate to Arizona.

The issue is the runway being closed. I know a ATC guy and he said staffing is no different than it’s been for a long time. It’s just construction.
Pro tip, find an ATC guy and get him to owe you a favor. They can push your flight up list. Lol

Awful. Flew back last weekend and was delayed 2.5 hours out west, circled 45 over western PA and then diverted to Philly at 9pm where delta then suggested taking an uber to Ewr.

LGA for foreseeable future for me when possible.

We’ve used it twice and it was. We were even surprised, we decided to use it from my wife’s, sister’s recommendation as she has had no problems with it as well.

We have a flight in July to Iceland from Newark and a plan to fly out of Newark to Orlando in August.

I hope this issue is resolved by then.

Knock on wood. I never had any issues flying out of EWR. I can leave my house and sit in my seat in 30 min. Had guests this weekend and their flight was 15 min delayed. Hope the runway gets fixed quickly and resolves the issue.

Wondering about my early June United flight to California. Probably a blessing in disguise that we decided to take a red eye back.
