So, it's a race thing against Shedeur but not Travis to put Deion back in his place? In what world does your rant make any sense?
yeah there are some here and all over ESPN insinuating racism is in play here. they think it can’t possibly be something else. one idiot on espn yesterday went as far as saying NFL executives don’t like the chains and the confident , brash talking QBs lol really?? the media suck.

They all saw this show in Johnny Manziel and learned a lesson. I like Sanders, but he definitely gives off Johnny Football vibes.

There is still a lot of racism in sports but this is far from the case with Sanders.
He isn’t a first round talent and maybe is a 2nd-3rd round guy if he did everything else right.
If I am a team and know I’m selecting a project but this guy won’t work out, doesn’t even try to ace an interview, has a me first and if he isn’t starting, it will be blasted all over the internet by his Dad every single day.
You take the other project QB instead. The guy who showed you how hard he is willing to work for it.

Their daddies look like this? Most media will hate him just for the jewelry.
Its about Deion Sanders

Jewelry? It is about how much jewelry a prospect’s father wears?

every kid wears a ton of jewelry it has nothing to do with it just people looking for excuses that their little sanders isn’t as highly thought of as a talent as they thought

Forget playing. No one is drafting him now to play so he’s better off finding the best backup job. He should hope that KC drafts him, let him slip into the background for a couple years, learn from a great HC and sit behind an elite QB. In 2/3 years, assuming he’s ready, KC can trade him for a 3rd or 4th round pick and Sanders can finally get a shot.

Pat Mahomes would look at the coach and GM and just shake his head.

The Sanders clan doesn’t know how to sit in the background. His ability doesn’t match the bravado.

People up with his father (and anyone else) because he could straight up ball. He’s not his father.

One longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was "the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good." Said one longtime AFC executive: "It didn't go great in our interview. He wants to dictate what he's going to do and what's best for him. He makes you feel small." Even some of Sanders' fans expressed disappointment he didn't take a bigger step forward as a senior. "I liked him the year before," an NFC GM said. "They did change coordinators. It just felt different. It felt less athletic, less arm talent -- everything felt less. If you're talking about this year's tape versus (Jaxson) Dart and Shedeur, I don't think it was particularly close."

Lots of important details in these two posts that people should be taking notice of when discussing why the guy is falling down the board. He will likely get picked early today in the fourth round.

My thoughts:

1) First of all, I think any suggestions of collusion, or "the fix", are nonsense. I cannot believe 32 owners would get together, presumably under Goodell's direction, would band together to blackball Sanders. For what reason? For whose benefit?

2) I don't think systemic racism is involved - but that doesn't mean that racism can be ignored here. I had been a Jet season ticket holder for three decades. I witnessed the racism, misogyny, and homophobia rampant among the alcohol-fueled fan base. Yes, owners want to win. They also don't want to piss off their fan base. I can certainly see Woody Johnson whispering "Sanders? Nah, we're not going there." I doubt he is alone in that.

3) That said, Sanders doesn't fit the mold of the 2025 QB that GM's drool over. He lacks the size, mobility, and arm strength. I liken him to Chad Pennington, but with more 'tude and more bling.

4) All of that notwithstanding, he'll be off the board by 1:00 today.

He's not a great QB talent. So many teams passed on him proves this point. He struggles with short, timing throws, and has no more than average arm strength. Seems to back peddle a lot when under pressure and holds the ball too long. Not lead footed but not elusive either. Better with the long ball, finding his play makers, and throwing on the run. Probably pretty good overall QB IQ too, lots of playing experience, and tough SOB, but you could say this type of stuff about other players in the draft. W/o the Sanders name, you wouldn't be surprised of such a player fell into the third day.

Not sure you can raise the race card when the #1 pick in the draft for the last three years has been black QB's.

None of those QB had Deion as their father. Shedeur is being overlooked because of hate directed at his father. You know that. Do you really think Milroe or Gabriel are better than Shedeur? Tom Brady has trained Shedeur for years and you can see the difference between him and the other QB. Not even close.

Doesn't work like that. Talent trumps everything. Your guy is just not that talented. A good but not great talent. But everyone in the draft is at least a good talent.

Didn't Tom Brady's team pass on him too? You're not being objective when evaluating Sander's talent. Milroe has a far higher ceiling. Gabriel has slightly more experience and throws the shorter and timing patterns better. Sanders does some good things too, but he's not a great QB prospect. Outside of possibly Cam Ward, not sure any of them are great prospects.

Heard an interesting take.

It's a perfect storm unfortunately for Sanders.
He's not good enough for teams to pick him as their starter/future QB.

But the potential off field circus is too much to take him as a backup QB.

If a team saw him as their future QB, you could deal with the potential off field stuff.
But as a backup? Not worth it.

Thats a very good point. I read an SI article which suggested a scenario where his best bet is to NOT get drafted. Then he can sign a FA contract wherever he and daddy deem the best fit.

And there is zero chance I would have picked Ward as number 1 in the draft.
This is the year that if I had number 1 , I trade out of it and try to get another teams 1st round this year and next…
I would have taken the Giants trade if I were the Titans.

Daddy ball doesn’t play in the NFL. That’s the lesson.

Deion should have been sitting in a corner and shutting up about his son, who he just know is a mid talent. But he couldn’t, so it appears as if something else is at play.

It isn’t. NFL owners would sign a murderer if it gave them a chance to win.

Seems to have been the Browns strategy. Get your career backup QB this year, then have two first rounders next year for what appears to be a deeper QB class.

Exactly, a bunch of Sanders fanboys in here that’s all. Anyone bringing up race is clueless and losses all respectability . The first player drafted was a black QB. The second player drafted was Sanders teammate who is black. I see Stephen A starting his typical race baiting BS.
I watched breakdowns of all these QB’s for a while now because my team was needing a QB. Just about all the legit draft analysts had him as a day 2 pick.
After his interviews we all heard how he bombed them. I read someone said he talks like he’s from the streets and he’s the furthest thing from that. He’s just fake.
Apparently, we didn't take Sanders and instead Dart because we're a white supremist organization and the Ole Miss Rebels align with our racist organization's ideals, that is according to @ashokan. You have a GM and Coach who know this could be their last year if they don't win, but they stuck to their guns on their racist tendencies. Again, this thought process defies all logic when you look at the current QB room.

So now it is not systemic racism?
Colin Kaepernick was better than half the league when he was blackballed for standing on principles. He was told to be quiet and play. That type of racism is hard to point because it's buried deep into the makeup of this country. I try not to make race an issue on the board, but when I see similar things from my experience, I'll call it. As far as I'm concerned, I don't want to continue this debate with you. There are other things concerning Rutgers that we can discuss such Toure in the portal.

Woody Johnson is such an odd example. He’s hired more minority coaches than just about anyone. The team also drafted a flashy kid named “Sauce” only a few years ago. And let’s be real — Woody would love the Sanders’ sideshow

Didn't CK have multiple knee and shoulder surgeries by then, and statistically on the downside of his career? That may have had something to do with it too.

I watch Seattle (1992) pass on drafting a real dude and went for a less talented player because the more talent player was considered a problem. A problem because he was vocal about off the field issues and it would interfere with his play. The guy went to play for Steelers and was never a problem. Seattle select OT Ray Robert over OT Leon Searcy. Bottom line the NFL has a herd approach to things. If a few GMs pass on a player, reasons not publicly disclosed, suddenly other avoid out of fear. It snowballs.

One of my favorite college quarterbacks of all time is johnny manzell, he and shedeur both come from rich families and both had cocky ⏸️ demeanors. Manzell received the same kind of criticism and hate so it's not about race...however shedeur and deon are getting a little bit more hate than others from the general public. That may be because of the prevalence of social media now but all the comments from those pepe the frog anonymous accounts tell me a different story..hard to ignore when every time his name is mentioned on social media the comment section is filled with examples of the publics animosity..

Haven't seen one filled with animosity. Haven't seen one pepe. What I have seen is a lot of people mocking Mel Kiper and ESPN. People are sick of talking head and media narratives, and they react when talking head and media narratives get shattered. Different people see things in different ways. Maybe my feed on X tunes out pepe people but just not seeing it. Still wondering what 4chan is

Because social media has convinced people that Harvard law only accepts black students just like social media has convinced some black people that shedeur hasn't been drafted because of his race..

"Sick of talking media head narratives and they react when the narrative gets shattered" really? So mel kiper has never been wrong before? Lol maybe not this wrong, he had him as the no. 1 QB in the draft. Maybe you havent seen a comment section lately but I'm sure some reading this thread have. I've never seen this amount of people celebrate a player falling in the draft, never. Two threads on this board alone claiming victory because he didn't get drafted yet. I've only seen this with shedeur Sanders..

Johnny Manziel did not come from money, that was just a cover story to hide all the money he was making on the side. That came out on the Netflix documentary.

Kaps was 100% racist around the league. Sanders, not so much.
Someone mentioned the Giants being racist not going for a black QB but I guess the forgot to look at their current QB room.

He had bad interviews. Teams didn't like him as a person. A QB is a leader and a culture setter on a team. He's talented but there are many talented players who don't have the right attitude to be a QB in the NFL.

Cam Ward had glowing interviews. Dude wasn't even rated coming out of high school and didn't have a rich daddy. He worked his *** off.

Had no idea Deion was acting as Shedeur's agent. Yeah, that sounds like fun dealing with him for GM's. Between, measurables, interview process, declining to workout for teams and now this, I can see why GM's aren't touching this circus with a ten foot pole.
