He’s basically Johnny Manziel, fitting he would get drafted by Cleveland.

I like the guy but GMs don’t need a bunch of rappers hanging around the locker room. Big distraction plus after a while everyone will be carrying glocks on them and you get guys copping gun charges and other BS.
Talk about an idiotic post. Rappers hanging around the locker room. Lol. Unbelievable. Yeah I can see Snoop Dogg in the next stall over from Myles Garrett rolling up his weed beforepassing it around.. And pouring some gin and juice after a win. Ahd don't forget the strippers. Gotta have some strippers so they make it rain up in that joint.

I could be wrong but it seems to me the avalanche of negativity started when teams became able to interact with him/his camp.

His play can't rationally be faulted to a high degree so "the private interview" became the only excuse. Even Mahomes said it was "Crazy" Shedeur was dropping. Shedeur was among top 10 QBs 2 years in a row. He had Travis Hunter and another decent WR but that was it. No decent RB or OL.

He's also a pocket passer and they are still be best QBs in NFL. Lamar Jackson is a spectator like the rest of us for Super Bowls. So Shedeur will hold a ball vs being a panic chucker tossing INTs. He took brutal hits (many cheap) and always got up and hung-in again.

Shedeur is actually a very mellow fellow. All the "brash" stuff is excuses. The Sanders want to win and they play/coach hard. Most NFL coaches (and fans) are lost at QBs/offense these days, and they like to keep their comfort zones with the same weekly excuses (like Schiano, Dabol et al). Many of the best QBs had fathers who knew how to coach their kids young (like Mahomes, Elway, Luck). In many ways Shedeur is better for the NFL game than the CFB game.

Of course the NFL QB game has been going to heck (as Brady pointed out) and many NFL coaches probably want plug-n-play robots and Shedeur is smarter than that sort of coach

"I think it's been dumbed down a lot," Brady said. "I think it's just, they're taking the quarterback position where you should've been the field general, you should've had a real say on the field and contributed -- you know, you always had the last swipe at the pencil. And I feel like the coaches now are trying to make it more coaching-focused and just [saying] 'Run what I call and get out there and be a robot, and then adlib if the play breaks down.'"

It’s risk/reward.

No GM wants to draft a lesser accomplished Johnny Manziel with a much bigger potential downside.

At least not until the 5th round, apparently.

Apparently the Browns can’t help themselves.

Ultimately I think this is what did him. They probably had some preconceived notions about him already and he just came to the combine and continued to rub these guys the wrong way. Him having played for his father all these years, idk if he knows how most football coaches are.. there's certain things thatll piss them off every single time..
While I certainly factored his father into all this, I didn't consider that Shedeur has only played for his father. Does this go for HS too?

I could see NFL coaches being wary of this regarding his willingness to be coached by others.

Yeah pretty sure Deion was the head coach for all his teams from highschool on up... I'm not sure but I think little league and pop Warner as well .

I think a lot went into Shedeur dropping. Lacking in elite skills being part of it, his own brash attitude, all that, but Deion hovering above it all was almost certainly part of it as well.

If your Schoen and Daboll, and you are going into this season on the hot seat, do you want headache of the media going to Deion after the team falls to 2-4 or 3-5?

Or if you are Mara, do you want to be forced to hire Deion after most likely firing the current regime next offseason?

I thought Sanders going to a team like the Rams later in the draft made sense. Where he could sit and eat his humble pie, learn from a great coach and a great QB and questions of Shedeur playing or Deion coaching the team aren't seriously entertained.

Cleveland though? Especially after taking a QB a couple rounds earlier? Does seem on brand I guess, but hey, it's an amazing value pick for them.

This is an actual quote:

“"The [Lil] Wayne [locker room] concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a source told Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."

NFL GMs have no time for this BS, and it would 100% follow Sanders to the NFL

There is as much chance of rappers being invited into an NFL teams locker room because Shadeur is a team member as there is of Jelly Roll coming to hang out with Quinn Ewers in the Miami Dolphins locker room. That being none.

He will have his chance to show what he can do without his father on the sidelines. Way too many top college players are still not truly aware of how much harder it is in the Not For Long.
I am going to see if papa still shows up and wants to be on the field.

How come no one is spinning conspiracy theories about Ewers dropping all the way to the 7th round when he was a projected day 2 pick? He had a much better college career than Sanders.

Actually the Browns may be the ones laughing - they now have the rights to Sanders without using pick #two. They could trade Sanders rights to another team for fairvalue and have aboat load of picks with trading pick #2.

They have 4 QB's right now and got a boat load of picks for next season. They took Dillon Gabriel in the 3rd, I read so many reports teams loved his interviews. The exact opposite of Sanders. Gabreil is easy to root for. Passing on Hunter may hurt them but Graham could become a stud as well. Next years QB class could be great. They have a lot of flexibility.

one idiot said well take away the bad interviews, the bad attitude he showed , the lack of working out and the fathers circus and just look at his talent he should have been picked. ah you take everything into consideration when you pay someone millions before you hire them !!!

If his last name is manning, and not sanders, where does he get drafted? Seriously question

I think he goes to the giants at 3

That might be correct, but the reporting says Sanders basically flunked the interview with the Giants’ staff. It would have been the equivalent of malpractice had the Giants selected him.

I’m happy with the Giants’ first round selections - they took the most ready player with the #3 pick and then traded up into the first round for Dart without giving up a 1sr round pick.

LOL at people playing the name game like it changes the equation.

Why don't you just come out and claim it's because Shedeur is black. That's what you're saying by using the Manning's as your example.

Meanwhile Quinn Ewers slide to the 7th round and no one is running around claiming conspiracy theories. He was a far better QB than Sanders in college.

In the end, all these QBs are weak by NFL standards, NFL scouts determine who is drafted where not Mel Kiper & ESPiN.

People don't realize the league is full of interview heroes. All the guys with 7-15 on the Wunderlich are good at colorful interviews. Obviously Adam Gase was a real champ by getting an HC job with no expectations of success at all.

Some time in future kids will ask if I was around when Shedeur gave a horrible private interview. Of course he openly said everything he's ever thought/felt for years so he must have really blown the QB mavens away with some new stuff

the interview is a very important part of the process and he failed for sure according to coach’s feedback. you can’t just ignore this part of the process.

Shilo moved to a different agent. "Was going with Dad but that isnt working out so good". His words. After signing with new agent, he landed a free agent contract with the Bucs.

Ok lol I watch ESPN...what do you mean they've been promoting him? He's been dropping in every mock draft consistently...mel kiper did have him as his highest rated QB prospect but in this class that's like being the tallest midget had him 29 in mock...they repeatedly stated how weak this years QB class is, idk how good cam ward even is, I don't like his throwing motion..but no one on espn was raving about shedeur skills..they say he was the most accurate QB in the nation, which he was and that he needs the right team to succeed.. he's a trending topic partly because people like you discuss how much you don't like him all the time. It's all about views and clicks so that's why he's always talked about. They talk about him on fox too, were they also part of the agenda?
Actually I think he’s a good QB, just don’t like espn’s over the top promotion. Most minutes of the CFB programs showing his tapes. He’s good, they suck. Have a nice day.
