Actually the US job market was pretty good this past month . You need to have been around since the 1970’s in order to understand what is a bad job market. A great deal of job excess in many companies the past 5 years . Plenty of printed money going around …. bloat is a terrible thing to the corporate bottom line .

Yeah don’t love his stuff either, but at least the point he’s making (whether you like it or not) is related to the job market. You went full blown knee-jerk CE attack.
He made it because, like usual, he’s seeking attention and in this case, he is acting like an *** while doing so

If you consider what I said to be an attack, you may want to remove the tampon out of your *** and head over to your safe space

Really dude? This is the level at which you engage? Tampon jokes?

You don’t like Al’s politics…fine I get that. No issues. But Al’s comments are related to the thread topic. You took it well beyond that. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yep, the correction was always coming. President Trump is the first President I've seen to take the fight head on and not kick the can down the road.

Not really
Sure there is. Generally a strong economy leads to a strong stock market as valuations reflect investor confidence in corporate profitability facilitated by a strong economy, going forward, though it isn’t always perfectly aligned.

But what we had here was a policy change regarding tariffs, so investors are not as confident in corporate profitability going forward at least in the short term. So stock prices and consequently 401K values, fell.

A rise in the market is not a direct correlation to a strong economy

Btw- I’m not sure if saying a couple of days ago that there were no exemptions on trade tariffs was all that transparent

For comparison's sake, President Trump added 230K non government and non low skill farming jobs in his 2nd month in office, far surpassing expectations. Joe Biden added 143k his last month in office, almost all of which were government jobs.

President Trump is adding private sector jobs while cutting tens of thousands of government jobs funded by the taxpayer.

It isn't hard to see where this is going.

Stop
Al’s comments were political

They, like the rest of his usual drivel, were meant to stir things up

Mission accomplished

Relax bac. You yourself chimed into this thread saying it doesn’t belong here. That’s all I said too, but somehow that has your feathers ruffled? Don’t be so sensitive. I’m not trying to “fool anyone” at all….I can promise you that.

Listen, I almost never find myself in the camp of defending Al…I really can’t stand his persona. Is he intentionally trying to mix it up with this thread? I dunno, maybe. If he is, screw him.

Fact remains you went way harder with the politics that wasn’t even close to on topic. And then with me, decided to go full on 5th grade tampon insult.

So how about you stop.

So much has happened that has slowed things down. But it really has come down to the fear of money and budgets.
Maybe tariffs can have long term benefits but in the short term- it crushes everyone. Companies do rely on foreign workers as well as parts from all over the world. Yeah, maybe it is the pull the band aide off but it has an immediate negative affect. And it will take a long time to turn things positive. But, the real concern is that no matter how you slice it- tariffs to raise the foreign market or hiring and manufacturing here in the U.S. - the cost of doing business goes up. And that also makes companies hold off on spend.

Transparency? Someone says- huh? Are the tariffs needed or are they a negotiation ploy? There is zero transparency with the man in charge.
Can't tell if this is sarcasm. He's told us more of what's he doing in one day than Biden did in 4 years. The tariffs are needed as China has cheated, stolen, and lied from day 1 of being given the top trade status. Go listen to what Mr. Wonderful thinks of the tariffs. If no one stands up to China they will own all our debt, our budget will be nearly consumed with payments on our debt, and our grandkids will essentially be their slaves.

I just think people use Reddit to complain about getting laid off. Not the company itself.
While it’s true that it full of sad sacks, some of the subs are good.

I use it for watches, the particular breed of dog I have and certain automobile in my driveway.

But yeah, bunch of weirdo’s over there. Except the naked ones. 😎

Well the MSM continues to alter, change or dismiss real facts of what has happened. Wall Street loves chaos, uncertainty and let’s be honest here… most including the current posters don’t or can’t figure it out. I suspect there will be plenty of falsehoods put out to the public on tariffs, taxes and what the average person has no clue about … the shafting other administrations refused to addresss since Reagan. 50 years of blindness has taken it’s toll . In the early 1990’s a delegation from the CCP did a tour of large food chains and American business under the guise of learning about the US business models of several highly successful companies. Soon after many these companies moved across the ocean and only now after 30 + years the USA has someone who has campaigned about this for 40 years long before he went into the political arena. If he fails it won’t be from a lack of trying to protect America’s assets and economy. People’s hate and refusal to see the truth is what may lead to that economic collapse. And it will not be pretty.

it is a shame he flinched when China slapped back.

And no- Trump is never transparent...He tells you what you want to hear at that moment.

Then you lie to yourself … no flinching occurred. That is the problem you don’t really believe that. The media rushed as did those who oppose and have opposed him in both his terms in office. They never have an actual solution … they had the past 4 years to change our future and shat the bed. To come here and claim he has never been transparent in the second term tells a great deal about you personally. Try to do better in the future .

If you're not comfortable sharing, that's fine. But what line of work/industry is your wife in? Also, I am wondering if this is a byproduct of how resumes are combed through and weeded out with technology these days. I guess the way things are done now reinforces the need for networking and personal connections.
Digital advertising/ad serving. It got to the point where she was applying for anything remotely digital, even outside her wheelhouse.
The company that eventually hired her, had her go through 12 rounds of interviews (some with the same people), starting in November and they just offered her last week
