If you are on the fence about renewing, you can give yourself a several hundred dollar drop in game expense over the course of the season if you have been paying for parking. You DO NOT need to pay for parking. Just a ten minute or less walk from The RAC will provide you with plenty of FREE parking spaces. I realize this may not be an option for those with very young children or mobility issues.

Actually, it is even better than that: Idiots are willing to pay $30 or more for each game's parking pass for hoops! Stupid when I think you can get into the far end of the Green Lot for $10 or $15! Not to mention the above post explaining how you could get free parking.

So ... if 18 home games, you might get revenues of $400 (assuming not all games are sold or sold at $30). I think parking pass was only $250, so you might be able to net a profit.

Parking is not cheap but least of the issue. It is about committing to 16-18 games (time and driving) and seeing a competitive product which may not be likely. You can tell me that I am not a diehard and should come support the team through thick and thin. However, the season ticket holder base increased because there was winning in 2019-2022 and made single game tickets hard to come by. I expect tickets will be under face value when / if I choose to go to a game.

All valid points. I live within a 20-30 minute drive of the RAC and work in the area, so I will likely renew. No one should judge people with different situations. Damn, when Jordan was coach I didn't want to go many nights but felt obligated since I paid for the tickets. I don't think I ever left so many games early or skipped them altogether than during that time.

I thought you were so pro RU. Now you are trying to deprive them of revenue!

My Dad started taking me to Rutgers sports events in 1976. This year will be 42 years of having football AND basketball season tickets. Hope that is enough of a Rutgers fan for you. That being said, parking and food prices are a complete rip-off at pro and college games these days and I won’t be sucked into spending money on those things.

Many people decide to go or not to go to a game based on total cost for a night out. The last thing we need is losing even a single ticket buyer because the price of parking is the last straw.

My dad took me to football games in the 60’s when John Bateman was the coach.

I think when we started going to games tickets were $6 and $8. Parking, sodas, hot dogs, etc. was $1. I can say flat out that we never would have become Rutgers fans if even with adjusted for todays prices and salaries, prices were anything near what they are today. As a kid I remember my Dad always wasting money on things like heat, food, electricity, keeping the house. I would have been a permanent college football TV fan of Nebraska or Oklahoma lol. Seems like those schools were always on TV in the 70s.

Heaven and I park at the same off campus location
Easy walk

I buy the parking though from the school and sell the games
Take the money and donate it to KOR or use it for RU related things (merch, tickets, etc.)

Same for football
That way, the University gets the revenue
And I get my steps in

I love how some posters think this is about them. Just leave and stop looking for attention. Nobody will miss you. People are waiting to replace you.
There really aren't people replacing in a small fanbase

Keep puffing your chest and acting like its not a problem its a problem in football too...have you seen the empty seats there

We've sucked for the better part of 45 years
6 tourney appearances since the Final 4 in 76 isn't exactly killing it
Crowds barely topping 4k, sans when the big dogs came into town, were the norm prior to 2019

Get in price this year, for multiple games, was $5.00
**** the bed again this year, and though we won't revert back to pre-covid crowds, it won't be pretty

Classic RU fans, figuring out how to give the school less money. Did we all get that free milk shake at least from Shake Shack? That's what's really important to our fanbase.
HAHA. No, free shake was opened to participating stores in NJ. I live in NY.
Anyone remember when a shoe store was giving a % off on shoes for # of points the women's team won by. That was when they were winning big.

"Half Price Shoes!" was the best rally cry ever during the Wicks and Sticks era.
