OT: NY Mets 2025 Season Thread
- Thread starter Tango Two
- Start date
Just booked a trip with my son to see the Mets for a few games in March.
The price for Mets' No. 22? Juan Soto had this nice gift for Brett Baty
Agree and I have said it many times...and if posting a link, please make some conversation with the link. Non stop links like this kill all conversation that was going on as it often pushes everything to a new page.
And if you are not aware Tango is a moderator so reporting it doesn't do much.
Been saying it as well. Not sure if he's being obtuse, an a-hole, or both.
The links provide a lot of information that casuals might not know otherwise, hence them being here.
Of course there a litany of Mets fan sites to use like most people, rather than a college football board. Will gladly share if anyone wants.

Well, I don’t think he is bunting to move a guy over…but if he isn’t the tying or winning run at the plate, if he bunted to get on, I would love it…Lol.
If I ever see Soto bunt in the next decade though...
After 40 go for it.
The game is listed on SNY so I can only presume they are broadcasting it. I’m in Union Cty NJ.
This is the 64th year of the existence of the New York Mets.
In their first 63 years, they have never had a hitter as good as Juan Soto.
They do now.
Holmes is going to be a good starter as well. Stuff looked really good today with the two new pitches. Let's hope he can hold up to a full season starting.
I’m not generally opposed to article links but put them all in one post in a fixed location instead of breaking up the conversation.
I’m not sure how you do it in an ongoing thread like this. Maybe have a daily post in the thread with the links then just edit that post with new links as they come along. Keep it in one place. The links are still valuable.Fair.
In David Wright's best season of his 13 year career, he had an OPS+ of 156.
Juan Soto's CAREER OPS+ is 160.
To elaborate on how good a 160 OPS+ is, I offer the following:
In the modern era, and excluding Negro League, Soto's 160 OPS+ ranks him 13th all time. Here are the 12 who are ahead of him:
Babe Ruth
Ted Williams
Barry Bonds
Lou Gehrig
Rogers Hornsby
Aaron Judge
Mike Trout
Mickey Mantle
Joe Jackson
Ty Cobb
Jimmy Foxx
Mark McGuire
Pretty good company, no?
David Wright was an outstanding player. But he simply is not at Soto's level. No disrespect. Few are.

Man, time flies. I vividly recall listening to the very first spring training game from St Petersburg at 15 years of age.
