Not to mention one of our only national champions literally did what that guy said no one would ever do. Left Penn State to come to rutgers. Worked out pretty well for him.
Not too surprised Angelo and Arnold didn’t wrestle… I mean Ayala got to wrestle his teammate y bother giving all the fans in attendance there what they really wanted to see.
What I’m confused about though is why didn’t Angelo/Arnold end in a “no contest” kinda like how PSU did theirs… and if not why does Angelo get the fft and not Arnold? Also, Arnold is noticeably absent in the team picture.. doubtful it means anything but thought it was interesting..

So could someone summarize what the update is? I can’t stand sifting through all the wee wee measuring to get to the point.
There's really no update at this point. I spoke to my contacts last night and apparently there is a lot of dissension in the iowa ranks. The one guy from iowa that I mentioned from the beginning is now one hundred percent jumping ship and coming here. I guess after that soldier salute that kind of solidified everything. As far as the penn state group goes they are just riding out the season and pretending like they are happy. My contact has kept in close contact with these penn state kids parents. They are done and coming here. If you don't want to believe it, that's on you guys but it's going to happen.
Iowa seems like drama central the past 2 years.
Ferrari are very good wrestlers but not sure the drama is worth it.
PSU is just a matter of numbers to me. Some alpha dogs want to compete and win AA.

Only Ferrari drama was AJ Ferrari and he brought okie state a title—debatable if that’s worth it.. before Suriano came here ppl here were debating if his drama was worth it—no joke…
Angelo is a stud and any team would love to have him.. not sure what happened to the middle Ferrari tho..

It's not as well oiled as you think. Unfortunately it's a meat market of the top wrestlers in the country. A majority of the wrestlers on his team are top eight all americans all day long. These kids know that and want to achieve that honor that's why they're not staying. Slingblade is very calculated in his approach to recruiting. He knows the top wrestlers in a country buy into the hype of the penn state program.Then he takes the top 1-3 wrestlers in their weight in the country and has them wrestle off. Now you have 2 wrestlers sitting on the bench that could be multiple time all americans. In a way it's a brilliant business move. On the other hand he could care less if these kids achieve their college goals. I guess that's across the board and all sports. A lot of recruits are catching on to that now. What kind of honor is it to sit behind an ncaa champion for years when you could have been an all american at another school. That's what these 3-4 wrestlers at penn state realized,that's why they're coming here. As far as angelo ferrari that's not the kid we're getting.

So we’ve gone from one PSU “top dog”, “top of the heap” definite top 3 at nationals PSU wrestler, to then three (the “top dog” guy and two others), and now possibly 4? But the “top dog” sure-fire top 3 at nationals “top of the heap” guy is now just a backup? Do I have this right?

I really hope this all pans out. The program has been stuck in neutral for awhile. We really need a shot in the arm, as the program has really been pretty boring to follow for a few years now.
