I am a PSU fan but I have known Rutgers Asst Coach Steve Mytych since he was in 5th grade or so. Well his daughter, who is a pretty good wrestler in her own right I hear was in a terrible accident. Here is a snippet from a FB post her mom made.
Thank you everyone that reached out, we appreciate you all and for those that don’t know, Mercedes was in a terrible accident and is currently at CHOP hospital in the ICU..Mercedes is going to be ok… she is in the best hands here and I couldn’t be more thankful for the staff taking care of her!!! Mercedes does have a long road to recovery but she’s one tough cookie and we couldn’t be more proud and blessed to be her parents!! She has a lot of trauma to her head, face and body.. and There are a few different types of surgeons that will be working together and hopefully operating at the same time tomorrow to try and get everything done in one shot. She is in a lot of pain and unfortunately isn’t allowed to have any visitors. We just ask to keep her in your thoughts and prayers and we will try to keep you all updated!
