Many small schools do not have sports scholarships. I give up, believe what you want!
Didn't I post an article discussing the possible evaporation of the 63 schollie limit in FCS based on some accommodation over some legal action?
I don't care how many privates don't offer athletic scholarships. I care that there are some rules the teams in the current FCS playoff this year had to obey that seem to not apply at all to the Ivies who want to be in the FCS playoff starting next year. And I wondered if the way they do need scholarships is the equivalent of the athletic scholarships of other FCS teams if their should be some way of measuring what they do to make it fair with teh other FCS programs.
Why do you keep changing what I am saying in order to make an argument? I don't care that the Pioneer League offers no athletic schollies, nor did I care that the Ivies did not... but now they will possibly take a spot in the FCS championship from a team that does and it should at least be considered if the Ivies really do offer the equivalent of athletic scholarships.. otherwise, how could they compete with teams that do? Do they just make up teams of wealthy athletes and dirt poor athletes?
No. The financial threshold the Ivies set makes nearly every athlete eligible for a free ride. There is a sliding scale.. but the value is high given what tuition is there. But.. the point is, athletes get admitted whereas if they were not an athlete they would likely NOT be admitted. In essence, that is the same as an athletic scholarship. They get the need-based scholarship because they are an athlete.
I guess we shall see how the Ivies do with FCS soon enough.
