I saw someone comment that this buyout thing will be used against him. That's archaic thinking in these new days of free transfers and NIL. Players have flexible commitments but coaches cannot?

Maybe he’ll use some of his salary on NiL like Kelly lol. I didn’t think coaches could, might be a donation to the school not NIL itself.

I bet you a lot of coaches won’t like that Kelly did that
They probably know Kelly is trying to get the fan-base liking him more after disappointing them by having a year LSU fans find just as unacceptable as the phony accent he tried to use when he was hired.
Kelly is trying to get his hot seat a little cooler

With the Belichick hiring is the University of No Classes positioning themselves for inclusion in the SEC or Big Ten?

Heard another funny comment on this.

Will there be a bigger coaching advantage in the history of sports than for some of these UNC games?

BB could say the "forgotten more about football" line and it actually will be true.

Who in the ACC is out coaching him?

Not the same level of accomplishment but lest we forget the “schematic advantage” of his one time OC Charlie Weis.

Bill O'Brien knows his stuff and was considered a good NFL HC , his GM role hurt the team
Dabo has proven to be HOF material at the college level
Rett Lashlee of SMU is building a good resume as the Mustangs are becoming a program that might return to the Dickerson/James glory days before the death penalty killed the program
David Doeren of NC State is underrated by most but his name is usually in the mix when top programs are looking for a HC because of his coaching skills.

Belichick is a great coach, but Tom Brady helped make Bill look as great as he did at NE
without Tom (25-38) Bill looked like he was missing what made him so great .
Also if you consider ( along with Bill's after Brady record) the 41-55 Belichick's record was in his first six years as a HC ( 5 years as the Cleveland HC , 1 year pre-Brady at NE) makes Bil's greatness ( on his own) not as great as his total W-L record has him look and might be the reson he went College instead of having an NFL team hire him

I won't say Belichick won't be a great coach for North Carolina, but won't put jim as an isstant sucess before the Tar Heels play a game under him.
I'll just say hiring Bill puts more wind in the programs sails in terms of booster support and talent wanting to play for North Carolina , which makes winning easier to do for good HCs that can bring in a good staff like Bill should be able to do.
