1. The guy from Monmouth was unconscious. Wish we had stuck to a traditional man rather then the frequent center hedging and double teaming.
2. Been mentioned in other threads but Dercack might be the steal from the portal. And he’s back next year!
3. Ogbole is lost out there. I mean really lost. Sommerville showing off his shot blocking abilities this game-still a little lost on D.
4. The Harper and Bailey show is legit. However aces last missed three (terrible shot) let Monmouth back in the game a bit.
5. Hayes is as advertised.
6. Good to see Acuff connect on a three. Hope to see him continue to progress.
7. Martini was en fuego. Nuff said there!

Rutgers should consider switching to a zone defense. In 3 games against mediocre competition Rutgers man to man defense has been unable to stop opponents from making 3 pointers.Monmouth made 13 three pointers which is a clear indication of poor defense.

You really don’t understand the advantages of a zone defense, it does not include defending outside shooting.

a 3-2 zone would absolutely enhance D against shooters but weaken our interior D, which seems soft. I’d rather make guys beat us from downtown rather than get our bigs in foul trouble defending in the paint

Why does it seem there is one of these on every team we play? Unconscious 3 pt shooters…
Of the three games, I felt Wagner missed some open shots that allowed us to extend the lead in first half. This game could have been really ugly if not for Monmouth making silly 3s.

Derkack has definitely shown other parts of his game that fans were not expecting. Been a big plus so far to the roster.

Been saying all off season that Lathan was a #3 less than 10 minute type center. It was too much to expect some monumental leap in skills and ability over an offseason when he didn't display much last year.

Top 5/Top 10 recruits generally put up legit numbers compared to the rest of the 5*s and many 4*s. I said over two years ago that Dylan would have a better career than RHJ and that was before he was considered a one & done. He's so far ahead of where RHJ was a frosh. He could probably have gone pro straight out of HS if it was still allowed. Ace too, you see why teams are going to be living at JMA this year. The guy just hits shots that most guys would struggle getting off. Truly gifted.

“We are getting killed from open 3s, let’s go to a zone” was said by no coach ever (ok, Jim Boeheim may have said it once).

That's George Costanza do-the-opposite logic. Pike's teams have been top 10 pretty much every year, including last year's talent- and size-deficient squad. You think he needs to change the system? Cmon.
