starting and ending is up to the individual .
I have a set time to end, starting point is when the first little monster arrives
More and more people have stopped handing out candy, I tricked treated so I just am playing that forward.
Not everyone feels that way and the stigma of lights off isn't there like 30 -40 or more years ago .
Now it's common and been that way for years.
Halloween looks like a slowly dying traditions that kids enjoy .
My block and neighborhood more lights off than on , back in the day when I was growing up just about everyone was handing out candy

Always give out candy, no problems for me. It’s one day a year so not a big deal. Less trick or treaters over recent years but this year I d say a slight uptick from the past few years. It’ll never be like the number from long ago.

About 200 trick or treaters tonight so far. Our little one and her crew just got back to review their hauls and trade candy.

Not really feeling the constant up and down of handing out in person this year.

We did that one year, and we got cleaned out by a bunch of young rugrats early in the night.
We are still away after an extended trip post USC game. We had one visitor based on our Ring camera alert. We have a somewhat long driveway, and we don't have any little kids, so I think the only trick or treaters we get are the one or two families who know we are not creepy people without little kids.

Don't have sidewalks and live on busy street hence no Trick or Treaters.

Watching NYC Village parade live stream Some really great costume and of course lots of wacky stuff. This year's theme is "Meow" so tons os cats.

I go to a non Halloween, Halloween party at a house far far away from the masses…it is delightful.

We attended BooneBoo, an annual event held by the town and businesses on King Street. It's a thoughtful way to bring the community together, in one setting. Kids and parents dress up and trick or treat along the route, which is closed to vehicle traffic from 4:30 to 8 pm. There are also a couple "Trunk or Treat" venues involved. Great weather and a great turnout last evening. Post-hurricane, the area deserved a return to normalcy. We started with drinks at the revered Boone Saloon, then a casual dinner on Howard Street, then walked the route a few times. Nice.

Love Halloween and yesterday was gorgeous, so we got a decent amount of kid traffic and gave out plenty of candy.

Last two homes I have live at maxes out at 10 kids.
This year- not a single one. And I am in a neighborhood of about 300 homes and no main roads.

Love Halloween and yesterday was gorgeous, so we got a decent amount of kid traffic and gave out plenty of candy.

Same here and the traffic was alright , but seen better years.
As time goes by more and more people stop handing out candy in my area and Halloween traffic tends to be a little unstable.
One year herds of little monsters, the next Frankenstein & Dracula are no shows thinning out the crowd to just Marvel Super Heroes and other American Horror Story characters .

Slow night in Hamilton in regards to trick or treaters. Only had are 20-25 kids/groups total. I’m having the wife take leftover candy to work so I don’t eat it all. Had way more kids last year

Had one moron with three little kids bang on the door at 9:30 PM - lights were off, except upstairs. Wife went down thinking it might be family member. Since the kids were small she gave them stuff. If I went down they would have got nothing

I wouldn't have even gotten up. Bye, now!

My neighborhood has always been pretty good with observing the porch light rule.

Went to my daughter’s house in Woodbine and it was nuts. I’ve never seen anything like it. 90-% of the homes decorated, driveway parties, cocktails, floats and trailers full of kids and parents all lit up. Really cool stuff

I think Halloween is making a comeback. I had more kids this year than the last 3 years combined. Being Diwali also helped as well.
