P LAV is just toeing the company line. Once Trouba refused to be traded they had no flexibility ( salary cap)
to make any moves. I saw Laffy last week. We was at my company for 9/11 Charity Day . I actually asked him about PP1 time. He just smiled and said "I hope so"

Looks like they haven’t addressed the wide open off wing, or their passive forecheck…lol

You were saying? 2 goals in the first 2:05. Now 4-0 with 8 left in the 1st.
It’s early in the season, and we’ re in a 30 year slump! **** happens, lol. I’ll wait til your little rangers catch up to our 24 Stanley cups, oh yea, you guys have. 20 more cups to go, then you can talk **** to me and I may listen.

Rooting for Montreal is like rooting for Norte Dame. Two irrelevant franchises living on success from decades and decades ago. LOL! Montreal sucks.

I guess you'll be playing golf while you're waiting.

7-2 and counting. Gotta feel bad for those losers in Montreal. Well, maybe not. LOL!

I have nothing against the Habs, just pro Rangers. Actually, those players who were honored pre-game were classy according to a Rutgers alum. RU Football HOF player Bruce Van Ness skated with them in practice when he was playing for the Alouettes in the. CFL back in their era of dominance in the early-mid 70s. Said classy "but they are all little ***** like you" (5-10 170). For those from a later era Bruce was a multi-year All CFL TE at 6-3 235.

24-4 yawn mdk. Who’s the little **** now? By the way I’ve skated with Les Canadiens for number of years at their Xmas parties as my cousin played for them and also played for the Canadian national team prior to nhl players. He was roommates with Ken Dryden and I sat with the family members during all home games while going to college in Montreal. Was present for 3 of their Stanley cups.

The number of historical championships the Canadians have won is pretty irrelevant when there are fans over 30 who weren’t even born for the last one.

Last I checked, Montreal's latest cup was the prior to the 1994 magical season. LOL! 31-year drought and counting.

I'm curious. There was Canadian national team during the Dryden era? They weren't going to the Olympics, though that doesn't exclude the possibility.

lol, this doesn’t even deserve a response. You probably don’t even know about the super series between Canada and Russia in 1972. I went to 1 game in Montreal.

Actually I watched game one. But that was a 1 on 1 competition., not the equivalent to the World Cup or Olympics. My comment after the game was the best skater on the ice was LeFleur, but the next four were Russians. Bobby Clarke didn't make any friends behind the Iron Curtain.

Also had tickets to game 1 of the Challenge Cup at MSG in 79.

So far so good with the Rangers. 5-0-1 that’s probably 6-0 if Wes McCauley knew what goalie interference is. The third line with Cullye Chytil and Kakko is plus 8 or 9 on the ice. Panarin is top 2 in points. And they seem to get scoring from all 4 lines. It doesn’t mean they win the cup but they’ve had a solid start

Good for you. Maybe you should start a Canadien's season the thread where people will care.

Zibanejad and Kreider are literally useless 5 on 5
They want to play on the edge of the action and not get caught up in the physical stuff. Florida gets in their face and they can’t deal.

Had the same problem with TB for a few seasons, just can't match the toughness.

Zany has to be the least physical center in the NHL.
Kreider soft as tissue paper on the forecheck and along the walls

Against teams like Florida, the Zibanejad line needs to get 3rd-4th line minutes at even strength.

They would be on the ice plenty for specials anyway, where they have more space, but they are a liability at 5v5.

The Rangers 3rd and 4th lines give them the best chance of offensive zone possession time against Florida, so they deserve the extra 5v5 minutes you take away from the 1st line.

I hated Laviolette getting carried away with the line mixing last night. To try and get the ineffective first line going he destroys the chemistry of the 2nd and 3rd. Should have just demoted the first line and given the 3rd their minutes.

Your point is 100% correct. Don't mess with what's working, just limit what isn't.

It shouldn’t be that big an issue because it should be the third line RW we’re talking about.

The big problem is coaches deploying that line like a first line when it isn’t.

5 on 5 and equally rested….
Filip’s line should see the ice in either zone before Mika’s line.
I predict Mika scores less than 15 even strength goals this year…
Empty nets, man down and PP is Mika time

Cuylle looks great.

Laff should fire his agent. That is criminal the deals the rangers got on that contract. They have laff locked up for 7 years at $7.6. Best contract in hockey.

Definitely a good deal for the Rangers. I think going 7 years so he would still be more likely to get a second (shorter) lucrative deal after this helped, but it is still cheap.

Not that is should matter for Laf, but the underplayed thing about the deal is that it only has a modified, weak, NTC in the later years. I still can’t believe that on top of paying Zibanejad so much money they gave him an NMC for virtually all of his deal.

Hopefully they will stop giving such strong trade protection in so many contracts.

If I'm laff's agent, I guess the thought process is hitting UFA at age 30 will get him another 7 year deal with another club ala Guentzel this summer or an 8 year deal with NYR. Even so, if that's the case, I'm not allowing my client to be locked up for his prime years for just $7.45. If I was going 7, I'd want $9+. Ideally, for his own personal gain he would've went the auston matthews route signing for 3 years now, 3 years again and then long term. His agent stinks. I'm happy for the rangers but if I was an athlete I'd go no where near that agent.
