It’s not a good match up. We have no pass rush and we can’t play 2 deep zone coverage because their QB is too accurate and can read defenses. They have top flight WRs. Play man with no pass rush .. not a good situation. Add in a short week, across country, has the makings of an ugly affair.

A QB that reads defenses. Must be nice to have one of those. Almost as nice as having a coach that actually teaches that skill.

Agree but damn, watching the heavyweights in the division PSU-USC and Oregon-OSU go at it last week was great football. Gonna be some fun years ahead
The deeper teams can sustain injuries with less dropoff.. especially if it is near equal for both.

I kinda wonder is play style matters as well. That is, we are a "tough" team.. that's how we compete with teams with more talent.. perhaps that costs us more in injuries.

And teh "haves" have more NIL for deeper benches.. and will forever at this point. Just like the pre 85-chollie days... even then, they used gray-shirts to store extra talent in their farm system colleges.. JCs, etc.

Yogi Roth reposted that X post in my original post in this thread. He knows USC well. He was a PAC12 reporter. He says they are thin at DL.
