I see where top recruit Bassett sets an official visit to RU, his last, in February. His others are PSU, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Okie State. Got to be unit to win it.

Bo’s cousin, Mason Gibson, goes to RU… and we were the first to call him (Cornell first to call Knox).. and I like that we are his last official visit… maybe we got a punchers chance if Bo wants to be a trailblazer? Obv we gotta go all in in trying to get this generational talent.. Bo will draw others to follow him too…
Being the last visit is really interesting. Would be cool to bring him to the MSU basketball game that weekend
It seems Bassett has a difficult choice to make. He can choose to attend any of the top programs in the country, get an Ivy League education, wrestle with his cousin, or go to the highest bidder. If you were his dad, what would you recommend?
It's great that he will visit, which also suggests Rutgers will be among his last few choices. Currently, he has narrowed it down to 16, so if he continues to drop one team per week, he will have made his choice before the Rutgers visit. He must be holding the last three to five for the final decision.

I love that we were the first to call him and also his last official visit..
Rn there are 16 teams left on his list.. if he continues his pace of eliminating one team every Wednesday.. then by the time our visit comes around we would be the last team left on his list 🥹🥹
I think he gets to his final 5 and keeps all 5 till his decision. I do think we will be in the final 5.

I would recommend the school that gives him the best chance to achieve his goals.
Does he plan on coaching wrestling for a career?
Does he want to go into business?
What kind of atmosphere does he want to thrive in.
In the end, i would tell him that life is short and surround yourself with good people who care about you, not your accolades.
As a RU fan, i would point to Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper. He can choose their path!
Yeah the whole bachelor style elimination is a giant charade. The final 5 will be Rutgers, Cornell, Penn State, OK St, and Iowa. Maybe Ohio St. Michigan is usually only in play for transfers. I don’t see anyone else being a real option.

I have no idea how Rutgers plugs for their program. I did ask but didn't get an answer. In the case of Bassett, he's going to hear how much he's wanted by each program. I presume they'll tell him what they can do for him. I think Rutgers should tell him how much they need him and his help and how instrumental he could be in the development of others and the program itself. There is something special about asking someone for help.

Mytych has a great relationship with the family and is really doing work on the recruiting trail.
That would be pretty crazy if we managed to land Bassett. Fingers crossed.

Weird, creates possible problems. What if Goodales son was a legitimate wrestler, would he not be allowed to wrestle at Rutgers?
That's pretty dumb. It's an entirely different situation. Goodale is a long-term employee, not someone being hired coincident with a recruit or new wrestler.
Where did you see that? Bo visited Iowa along with Jax Forrest, Owen McMullen, and Melvin Miller. That would be a pretty good package deal. Bo would have Spencer Lee to train with.
Owen McMullen commited to Iowa. Saw it on the Iowa board.. yeah jax Forrest and Bo Basset all took Iowa visit together.
