Rutgers simple doesn't have the cache to be ranked in the top 25 teams.I doubt defeating Nebraska on the road will move Rutgers up nine positions Right now its all about winning games to get a bowl game against a ranked team.

Does a former RU QB get any credit for the Rutgers and Kentucky rankings? Asking for a few posters.

Who else dropped out besides Ok St.

IU and UNLV are new so who else got bumped. Illinois is still there.

Duke 5-0 didn’t get any votes.

Edit: A&M is tied with UNLV..so that’s how no one else dropped out with Ok St

We're not getting any "help" from the teams ahead of us either. It's a log jam at the bottom. The preseason & top ranked teams lose and can't fall far enough, the lower end teams can't rise high enough. Only GT and FSU have completely faded out.

Why is Utah ranked? Looked bad at home vs. Arizona. Beat an unimpressive Okla St.

There were a lot of prognosticators who thought RU was going to be a dark horse this year

The thing is, we immediately looked pedestrian game one
again,game two

IF you look at the start of both games
Not the final scores, but how the games went

We Then proceeded to win the next two, again but not impressively

It seems, and rightly so, that RU is ranked fairly right now

RU got to 4-O but has not impressed enough to push their way all the way up

But we are noticed now, so we have that

It would be interesting if we beat Nebraska, but it is another close call with numerous mistakes by both teams

If it goes that way, I wonder what the excuses will be then if we don't crack the Top 25.

I felt better about our chances this week honestly with lots of ranked teams playing each other or playing teams receiving votes. I know it looks like we’re super far off but if we would’ve finished the damn job and took down Roger’s on that 4th down prayer he completed the game would’ve likely ended either 21-10 or maybe even 24-10 being that we would’ve taken over close to FG range with less than 3 minutes to play. Instead it was a 21-18 finish and lots of talk about Washington’s 500+ yards.

Meanwhile - it’s going to be tough to crack the rankings next week even with a win. Do teams not playing who are currently ranked fall out? Probably not. So that means Illinois, Oklahoma, Utah and BYU are virtually locked in. When you look at the lower half ranked teams playing, losses don’t look too promising next week either - other than A&M and maybe Cuse will beat UNLV but that only opens up one spot.
