I thought that all day. Self inflicted nonsense made this game close. We could’ve and should’ve cruised. But 3-0 
Think my wife was tired of me yelling “it should be 44 to F-in 7”
Game never really felt in doubt. There is a clear delineation between Acc teams and B1G teams.
Check out the dominating statistics -- time of possession, turnovers, first downs, total offense. Nine out of ten times Rutgers, with these types stats, closes a game out in the first half. This one just an anomaly of missed opportunities. VT isn't bad, they'll probably go bowling, but the RU program is better than the scored reflected.

Closer than needed to be. I thought arrogance on the coaching staff kept it close. Kick a FG when there, punt the ball when your defense is playing well. They kept VT in the game. Should have been a 10+ point margin.
Last year I saw RU's run game knock the stuffing out of B1G DLs.
VT was really really good - best I saw so far.
Maybe RU had the flu or the bye-week blues.
I don't know but it will be interesting to see next week
Opposing DCs have such an easy job scheming for RU.
Runs up the middle and "safe" passes to the sideline.
Sideline passes are hard when high and slow.
I want more 9 routes with Miller.
RU needs spacious passing TDs to keep guys back

Virginia Tech has a very good secondary, its the strength of their defense. It bodes well that Athan was able to complete 64% of his passes for 269 yds.
Agree we should have blown them out by at least 30, but Schiano felt like making it close
I don't understand why people are saying we should have won by 30. If Drones, Tuten, their receivers and their all everything pass rusher left the game then I would agree.
I think the talent between the two teams is very similar. Honestly we won because Kaliakmanis outplayed Drones. They forced Athan to beat them and he did.
Despite their record, VT is still a really talented team and l think will finish season 8-4. This is a game we could have won by 10-15 more points but it is still an encouraging win on the road and can hopefully give the team confidence in the games going forward.

I was screaming as well and my wife left the room. We should have absolutely won by 17+ points.
Need to show this was a one half fluke and come strong on Friday vs. Washington.
He’s also the reason we’re no longer losing by 50, grabbing OL out of Scandinavia, battling Buffalo and Toledo for recruits, and are mad we ONLY beat VT by 3 on the road to set up a massive primetime home game on Fri night.
Last year Michigan State was up 24-6 in the 4th quarter and Rutgers made up the gap and won. Michigan State fans probably said they were the better team and should have won by at least 30.
