I'm in Philly for a few days every few month for work. I'll try and stop in and check it out.
speaking of stout, just had a Great Lakes Brewing Cookie Exchange Milk Stout. super yum
If you are ever in Phoenixville definitely check out the Foodery. Maybe the biggest bottle shop in the area. Great selections, very big store compared to their other 4 stores.
Two of my buddies did a day trip last Saturday from NJ to Charlton, MA. The two of them picked up orders for 7 or 8 people. My own order was over $350. Great stuff.
And a pleasure to help continue running.

BOURBON BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL STOUT
12.3% ABV
Our 2023 ANTEAD base is our award-winning blend of ANTEAD Imperial Stout barrels ranging from our base ANTEAD recipe to our double-mashed and extended-boil ANTEAD recipes, all aged in carefully selected bourbon whiskey barrels and then blended. The average age of this blend is 20 months in oak and includes Weller, Elijah Craig, Wild Turkey 10-Year Russel’s Reserve, and Old Fitzgerald barrels, among others. This beer pours a dark black color with a dark mocha head and has a refined classic dark malt profile balancing chocolate with a touch of roast and features a variety of deep and complex full rounded bourbon notes, light vanilla spice, and fruity dark chocolate with a textured but balanced mouthfeel and overall profileThat’s the one I had. One of my favorite places in Philly. Definitely behind Monk's but right there with the other top places in the area. Great happy hour too! Any beer on tap $5 M-F
Comes out the same time ever year. Has a short, self imposed, shelf life and has a late April expiration date.
The last two breweries are across from each other in Munich. HB is very commercial and Ayinger is more local feel.
I finally made it up to Bolero Snort the other night and I was so impressed by both the tasting room and the beers (and make sure you get some tacos off the truck if you go).
My standouts:
THAT HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST PIRATE I'VE EVER SEEN-Jamaican Rum Cake Sour- very sweet dessert beer. This is the one I bought a 4 pack for home.
FLIGHT OF THE MOONICORN-Rainbow Sherbet Sour. Sweet with a huge kick- 9.1 ABV
OVB (ORANGE VANILLA BULLSICLE)- Milkshake IPA. Not much of an IPA guy, but this was very tasty and not overly hopped.
LAGER PROJECT: LAGER ON OAK + LAPSANG SOUCHONG SMOKED TEA -Smoked Black Lager- Like a lighter version of KBS. I would have probably taken this home, too, if it was fall, butI only like
The one beer that I really did not like and would recommend avoiding altogether is:
ONIGIRI - Japanese Rice Beer. This didn't really taste like beer and had an awful aftertaste.

OVB is the only IPA I like and one of my favorite beers of any kind. Of course, I love Busch Light Peach, so I'm not a sophisticated beer drinker.
Not much of an IPA guy, either, especially in the summer. Nothing worse than going to a craft beer bar in 90 degree weather and there are 16 IPAs, 4 stouts and Coor Light on draft.
Pine sap is only slightly less refreshing.
Back in early craft beer days, made the mistake of ordering an IPA while eating lunch outside on a 94-deg day. I might as well have neen chewing that thing
Try Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. One of their most popular beers in recent years.
Not a light beer by any means, but not a typical bitter ipa. Its my go to for post games.
Have had to completely cut out ipas. Got fined by the EPA for violating the Clean Air Act.
Had a 60 Minute Dogfish Head last night at The Stone Pony last night with Bruce 5-10 feet away rocking the house.
