Based on Rutgers continuing to recruit a point guard for 2025, James probably is choosing Marquette which is disappointing.

I think it shows how hard it is to recruit, and I think the success RU had last year doesn't mean it will come easy for future...commitments are now year to year...that said, hopefully the 3 frosh not Harper and Bailey improve and stick around for following season...

Richie said some time ago that Nigel had backed off of Rutgers. It might have something to do with Pike continuing to recruit other PG who are as good if not better. Some people don't want to much competition. We saw that last year with the kid who committed than de-committed while letting the cat out of the bag on Dylan. Some kids today want to be spoon feed. Whatever happened to eat what you kill?

Or maybe he saw the job Shaka Smart did with Tyler Kolek and said that works for me . . .

Are we big time enough in basketball now to say "It wasn't a commitable offer" like the dumb PSU fans used to say?

I think it was mutual. Rutgers didn't want to wait forever and possibly missed out on other guards who were interested in Rutgers. There is no reason to take this to State Penn level. 😁
