I just read up on her, never knew her background. She's a Holocaust survivor, sent at age 10 to Switzerland shortly after Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass". All of her family ended up being killed.

Ruth Westheimer >> Early life and education >> Germany

RIP Dr. Ruth Westheimer, you escaped Nazi terror as a child and fought for the formation of Israel as an adult joining the Haganah to achieve Israel becoming an independent Nation, forcibly ending the British occupation of Palestine under the UN's Palestine Mandate and having the UN recognize Israel's right to exist
Dr Ruth you lived a full life and one that made a difference

[WhiteBus]

She was known by two things. She was an Israeli sniper and "licky, licky, licky but don't bite"

You could be a little gentler when you post something like this.

Sex problems?

Some people need all the help they can get.

She was quite entertaining, and a positive person that had quite an inspiring life story. May she RIP.

Nothing scientific about Westy
The whole "sex therapy" field was full of kooks and pervs like Alfred Kinsey when Westy was "studying" for her sociology and education degrees - she was never a "doctor" in ways people think.
Ruth (4' 7") used the fish out of water model - an older European with academic veneer talking potty sex to young people.
She aligns with the Herbert Marcuse/Frankfort types at Columbia.

Met her at Clothier 3 in 1981. She did a sex talk at our dorm. Sadly I had no need for the advise LOLOL.

RIP. Used to tune in to her show back in the 80’s.

Used to listen to her radio show with friends (both men and women) on my floor (Frelinghuysen 4th 1981-82). Fun times!

Met her at the Student Center on College Ave.

RIP Dr Ruth!

Used to fall asleep on Sunday nights listening to her when I was in high school

[LeapinLou]

I was in 11th grade when that Sunday night radio show was getting it's best ratings. That's all we talked about at the lunch table on Monday. Good memories. Thanks Dr. Ruth.

Do you think it's a travesty that she never appeared on an episode of Batman?

96 is amazing, especially after almost being dead as a child.
