Setting up for the Virginia Tech (VT) game

Tulane was a skeleton of a football team when VT played them in that bowl last year. They were missing their coach, starting QB, top WR and several other pieces. They turned the ball over 5 times, and they were still in it going into the 4th quarter. Drones put up passing number's reminiscent of Wimsatt's during that game. There were a few busted plays where he ripped off long runs and that's how they won.

In no world will VT be as difficult as USC, Nebraska or Wisconsin. All 3 are better than VT.

Freaky things are gonna happen in their favor playing them at Lane Stadium. I don't know if we win, but I can tell you this. I badly want to win this not just for us but for the Big Ten. I grew up in VT country and went to a high school where the VT logo was on hats, bumper stickers and even painted on barns everywhere you look. VT fans do not understand the higher level of football we've been exposed to and had to endure the last 10 years. That I am certain of. They don't.

I want to win because I love the guys on our team. I also want to win to see the stunned faces of VT fans on the way out. My guess is 90% of them think last year was a fluke and we're still the same team from the 90s.

Agreed. I like the way our schedule is set up. Now we have to go out and execute to plan. Va Tech is a much different team than we played them early in the season. They finished very strong. Playing them at their place will be a tremendous test. I put Va Tech as the second best team on our schedule, behind Wisky. Wisky gives us fits. The Pac teams are still unknowns. As you say I like where we have UW. UW is not the same team and USC and UCLA have to prove themselves at this point. I know USC has talent, but they consistently underachieved last year with their all world QB.

Wisky gives us fits because we have had either a crappy coach and/or poor QB play against them .
This year that may not be the case

VT will won't be as bad as they were when we played them last year. And it is such a hostile place to play. They beat 11-2 Tulane 41-20 in their bowl game. It will be a tough game and really the first time we will see what Kaliakmanis is made of. I've been watching Kaliakmanis' games from last year, I am gaining a little more confidence in him.

Va Tech's QB is a high risk, high reward. If QB Drones is not on top of his game, Va Tech will struggle mightily.

The mysterious poster who has appeared here under many different screen names (is he/she past 100), who started this thread on the Virginia Tech board to air his/her gripes against @DJ Spanky and @AreYouNUTS . He/she actually is posting under 2 or 3 different names in the thread he/she started.

Takes a special type of individual to expend that much effort to carry out a grudge against 2 posters. The ignore feature is so much easier. Life is too short to carry grudges, and what is the point of doing so against people you probably never met? Bizarre behavior.

He continually registers new names in order to hijack threads to grind his axe about certain subjects like attendance, etc. He stalks certain people who he disagrees with, digging up old posts of theirs to reply to or to label with a laughing/sad/angry emoji. He'll also register ID's to pretend he's a fan of one of our opponents, such as Virginia Tech, Temple, etc. Currently he has used one of those ID's to create the thread I linked above on the Virginia Tech Rivals board to try to cause strife between boards by claiming I trashed Virginia Tech with this thread. He used the ID VTFanNY, then immediately replied to that thread with other ID's of his such as RutgersFum and RUScared. I found out about the thread due to someone on the Round Table posting about it. Unfortunately for him the Virginia Tech Rivals board has no traffic, so he hasn't gotten any VT fans to take the bait.

I think it is because he got banned here at some point and holds DJ Spanky and AreYouNuts responsible based on what I read. I don't know if he was a former RU fan or an RU basher or what. Anyway I hope he becomes an RU fan and can post here civilly.
