NCAA Tourney Saturday Night Games Thread

[RUChoppin]

Was that a 30-0 run?

[FIJI'83]

Brad Underwood has done nothing to stop this. I guess he’s shellsocked.

[bac2therac]

That announcer not Harlan the other guy is an *******..does he do nba games

Is that Stan Van Gundy..he should not be rubbing it in on Illinois

[fatsam98]

20-20 hindsight but I thought the watergun celebration after their last game was a little bizarre to be honest. Save it for end of the weekend

[Caliknight]

At some point it comes down to making shots. It always does.

But when you have a staff that can scheme open shots and a team that understands that and then makes the shots when you get them then you are cooking with gas.

What can he do when they are missing everything

[Greene Rice FIG]

Found a player worse than martinelli….coleman hawkins

[King of S]

Uconn definitely rattled on offense

Illinois blowing alot of chances

Holding them under 30 points is great sign...odd score despite the pace

Not any more.

[Greene Rice FIG]

What can he do when they are missing everything

Have them stop attacking clingan. They have 5 perimeter shooters and demask who uconn couldnt stop.

Agree 100%

Whoa wtf bac you would never give pike a pass like that. Lol.

[trotter]

Hurley’s wife ain’t bad!

[RUJMM78]

What can he do when they are missing everything

UConn beating Illinois down court for easy dunks.

[Greene Rice FIG]

Not sure I've ever seen a 30-0 run before.

In the Elite 8 no less. Wow.

Ruthers couldnt even go 0-30

[fluoxetine]

Agreed. Terrible coaching job by Underwood, also lack of effort etc.

[BIGRUBIGDBIGredmachine]

Was that a 30-0 run?

Yup right when I tuned in--I was out and missed the 1st half. Clingan absolutely terrorized Illini on D taking away anything in the paint.

[fluoxetine]

Ruthers couldnt even go 0-30

Didn’t Northwestern go on like a 31-0 run against us in the B1G tourney once?

[bethlehemfan]

Bad substitutions

[RUsojo]

Very frustrating Hobbs passed on Hurley and more frustrating the fan base was ok with it in real time and in hindsight.

Actually it was only 29-0 lol

Maybe if you post this exact same sentence one or two hundred more times it’ll change.

I thought he turned us down?

Is this true?

[burtmanjack]

Kansas

Seton Hall

Creighton

Don’t see anyone else being added to this list.

Is this true?

IIRC it’s sort of true, but Hurley wanted extremely onerous contract terms that we would never have realistically agreed to.

[RutgersClassof2004]

Cam Spencer is so f**king good. Incredible. Like him, hate him, it's the truth.

No.

I think Hurley passed on Hobbs.

[RUsojo]

I thought he turned us down?

Unfortunately not

[bac2therac]

Is this true?

Hurley wanted 7 years..remember we were a **** show

Hurley would have won here but likely gone too after he won...maybe Nova or some other bigger name

[RU-Kidding]

I think Hurley passed on Hobbs.

Yes, Hurley turned down RU while still at Rhode Island

The fact that Hurley demanded 7 years should give pause to the “you can turn around a basketball team in 1-2 years” people FWIW.

Hurley knew how difficult a job it would be.

He was never coming to ru.

[RU-Kidding]

He was never coming to ru.

Hurley turns down Hobbs...

[RUJMM78]

Illinois is a outstanding basketball team that could defeat most teams in the NCAA Tournament.UConn is a great team with outstanding coaching.Their half court offense in the second half has been unstoppable .

[fatsam98]

Sojo never misses an opportunity to take these little digs at Rutgers. It's remarkable

[RUDiddy777]

Cam Spencer is so f**king good. Incredible. Like him, hate him, it's the truth.

I think this whole team is a bunch of ruthless killers. In hindsight, I think Cams comments about the culture were less of a knock on us and more about him joining a team of assassins. Yikes.

Yes its true

[RUsojo]

Hard not to think about it. I know some people don’t care that much about Rutgers and are fine with a different measuring stick because Rutgers is all they consume. That attitude being used as an excuse is probably what triggers me.

[Greene Rice FIG]

We need to give TBS poison before commercials. Need to exterminate Coach K
