What is everyone’s wish list for O lineman they want out of the transfer portal? Plus any inside information they got!

I would love to land Rouse and move Richman to right tackle.

Why? I’m not getting the love for this guy. Is it just because he’s not on our team? His star rating? His tape? How do his stats compare to Richman’s? Not being rude, I’m just curious.

Rouse's PFF grade would be the best on the team this year. Especially pass blocking... Now, ALL our guys' scores will improve, barring injury setbacks, as we are very young.

That noted, we need to land Rouse. And hopefully one more tackle... Need the depth. And, of course, a better starter never hurts!!

Wouldn't mind going after a LT in the portal but I think Brian can coach up Plumb enough to be a very good tackle. He has all the intangibles needed.

We need some new blood mixed in with a little of the old. Need a few boys who like to mix it up a little, if you know what I mean LOL

Plumb has been in the program for years and has had ample opportunity to succeed. His play this year was flat out embarrassing. It is amazing that SP lasted as long as he did with the turnstile that was the right tackle

You know...I just find it comforting that the Iowa coaches recognize they need help at offensive tackle. For awhile there...I wasn't sure they were aware we were having problems. The fact they are actively pursuing these guys renews my faith in the OL guru thing at Iowa.

This could be my selective memory but wasn't Iowa's o line big and nasty when we could run the ball somewhat consistently? I seem to recall a transition to smaller / quicker o linemen in order to get guys out in space on the zone runs. It comes down to the fight in the dog in most cases but Iowa's o line has been manhandled the past few years by almost every opponent they have faced. I can't remember a dominant or even good + day for the o line in the last 4+ years. Maybe the bowl game against USC?

I don't recall Iowa really focusing on the Wisconsin 'recruit them at 300 and go from there type of lineman'. They have had some 280+ types but not as a focus.

Too bad the guard and tackle positions are now ‘specialized’. Getting the 4 best out there should be the focus. Not counting the center as that position is the most valuable.

Our OL struggles are concerning. Plumb has to move on and Top transfers and recruits must be brought in to improve the unit now. Saw Proctor said he would have been paid more at Iowa than Bama. Have to wonder if there is a systemic issue at Iowa and its apparent to top recruits.

Proctor said the Bama coaches said he could play for national championships with them.

First off...I don't buy that we were in the ballpark with money on Proctor...I'd need someone on the inside at Iowa to tell me we were even close. I just think Proctor was being selfish...not once did he take my feelings on his playing for Iowa into consideration. The only thing I will say...and I think Proctor will succeed, but if he doesn't, Alabama will cut him loose like yesterday's news.
