Possible legal issue where he can't leave the state?

[Knight Shift]

We have high standards. . . .

[KnightFan]

Oh I still remember what Harbaugh said about Michigan high standards when he was HC at Stanford.. I doubt things have changed much - for football or basketball

And he is a Michigan graduate

Harbaugh comments on standards

[toby83]

Must be falling behind with studies on road trips

[knight82]

Slappy did refer to this being academic related. He's probably refusing to work with the academic advisor who travels with the team on the road.

[Degaz-RU]

Michigan really only has two guards who get significant minutes - Dug and Nimari Burnett. Everyone else is a forward or center.

Suspect they’re going to be forced to play little used freshman George Washington III, who has played a total of 58 minutes in 10 games. Or maybe Jaelin Llewellen will finally be healthy. Who knows.

Either way, Dug has really dug a grave for Slappy.

[LeapinLou]

His use of the N word in a public forum does not reflect well on the school that considers itself the greatest academic institution in America.

But in defense of Slappy, I think telling the kid he can't travel because that takes time away from his studies is pretty good. And he's putting the kid's best interests ahead of his own by taking him off of the court.

[Scangg]

So his grades aren't good, but not bad enough to be academically ineligible? But that still requires a 6 game suspension?

This makes no sense. Probably covering up something else

[29PAS]

We have high standards. . . .

I can't like this one enough. High standards my a$$.

"Student-athlete" basketball has slipped so far, so fast. It hasn't been that long since Maryland dismissed it's team captain and leading scorer because of academic ineligibility. Now, ha ha...

Yeah, I'd forgotten his name, but that is it...

Must be falling behind with studies on road trips

Yeah, and definitely not falling behind at home

[RUsojo]

Strange penalty but when you actually think about it it’s not that weird and low key practical.

Michigan athletics may set a record this year for coach and player missed games due to suspensions in FB and MBB
