JMike Earned His 33 Minutes Tonight

Everything that showed up on his HS tape, showed up tonight and in spots of the other games.

Adding Davis and Mag on the defensive end and starting lineup, gave the team a lift.

Davis assists and moving of the ball was excellent.....recruiting, recruiting recruiting.

I know I keep mentioning Jeremiah Williams, but he would close this loop in the backcourt. If Davis can give is a solid 20 to 24 minutes a night, RU is on the right path of development beyond this season.

There will be some ugly plays and mistakes with Davis, but his athletic abilities overwhelmed Seton Hall in spots.

All JMike has looked like so far is a quicker version of Jalen Miller - he broke out of that comparison in a big way tonight with his offense. I'm not sure what he was doing in at the end of the game with a FT % in the 30's, but maybe Pike trying to build his confidence. You have to prove yourself FT wise before you can be in those big moments at the end - I think we just got lucky we didn't burn a lot of points and game didnt get closer. But again happy to see signs of life on the offensive end from him - much needed and much welcomed.

He’s the best ball handler on the team alongside simpson, that’s why he was in

He was in to break the press at the end. Even with his foul-shooting woes, better than having someone else who turns it over under pressure, for an easy 2 points the other way.

I get it, and understand the positives but we also had Fernandes. I think Fernandes and Simpson were enough - close games become 'foul-a-thons' and JMike is fresh meat in there to the other team with his FT%. It didn't matter tonight, but it might in another close game where the other team makes the calculus that he is basically equal to either an empty trip or 1 point at the FT Line - which is something they will happily take.

He's a freshmen playing D-1 for the first time. I'm sure he's also a little nervous too. This time next year he won't have a weakness.

Davis is so quick and can handle the ball but he doesn't over dribble like Simpson. He looks to move the ball like a true PG. Simpson always is looking to score first and loves to dribble

Noah was a 38.6% 3 point shooter at UMass. That's very good. We want him taking 3's and if Davis can help get him good looks it makes sense to have Noah as more of the 2 and let Davis run the point

I couldn't believe it when Simpson broke the press and dribbled to mid court to get trapped.

Made it 5 point game instead of 9 points.

And there were a few posters here that said that JMike would redshirt. His recruiting film said something way different.

Probably the same posters that said Ron Harper Jr would redshirt.
