Ogbole thread reminded me about this thread.
Guess the insider reports were wrong?

Well since this ru72 discussion has been revived-- was he even at the Princeton game that he pushed? Or was he broadcasting Yale basketball??

I don't see why people get so worked up over this. His posts add intrigue to the board. Some pan out, some don't - but I always look forward to reading them. The guy does have connections and valuable information outside of predictions. I now predict that someone will slam this post. As people always say when they predict RU to lose,"I hope I'm wrong..."

Yes , not every poster has 100% accuracy. Even for board legends . What matters is being right on the big things to get to legendary status

Have any of ru72 supporters ever read his anti BIG articles or know about his love for Uconn. To me he's a guy who thinks he's privileged and wished he graduated yale. His other black mark he went to BC law-! Lol

It's no secret about his dislike or shade he throws at the B1G and his love of the Big East and Ivy, but beyond that, he's just a fan, donor like anyone else. Time to move onto other more basketball related topics. It was never on the table for Mag to be cleared for contact in time to play in the opener. Some people are being provided information that isn't wrong, it was just not realistic or the smart decision in any way.

The goal is to find a handful of minutes between mid November and hopefully around the Illinois game on Dec 2nd.

Keep in mind once we get past Seton Hall on December 9th, we have 1 game a week for 3 weekends in a row. It would make more sense to see how he does from Illinois on the 2nd through Miss State on the 23rd. That's the window that matters the most.

I personally have him on ignore. His condescending tone and his know it all attitude, combined with his love for all things UConn and hatred of the Big Ten, really override any "scoops" he might have. And as others have pointed out, he's wrong a lot

You come off as being very petty on this topic. Richard was at the game, driving all the way from CT and while he likes and respects UConn and Yale (why wouldn't he?), he's a die-hard RU fan like most here and does a ton for Rutgers (not just donations). Sure he's wrong sometimes with his predictions, but so what? At least he's putting himself out there and trying, plus he often brings great info and insights about the program to the boards.

This. I never understand why posters here reject contributors who bring good info but may not always pull bouquets out their asses for RU. For example, Russ Wood is not a RU homer or fan but has good info and sees a lot of recruits actually play. Do we want him to stop posting? No.

I don't say this in a vacuum but if some of you ever got dm"s from ru72 professing how wonderful and important he is your opinions may change. But who cares ,I said years ago why I was not a fan of him --all having to do with how he attacked RU football in support of Uconn and how they get everything right. He can do and say anything he wants but I don't have to be a fan of his or his info that is couched in innuendo and changes after the fact to protect his" reputation " and I certainly wouldn't pay him for that info .

NJH,

Pike said Mag was cleared to play vs princeton

Pike also said Peter Kiss was with a 40 inch vertical and Derek Simpson was the best athlete he's recruited. I don't put too much stock into what a coach says, I just watch what actions take place or what the coach actually does.

It was never on the table for Mag to play on a odd court thrown on top of an ice rink floor in Trenton. Mag is going to get the proper level of attention and reward by playing his 1st minutes of the season at the RAC. What game that happens to be, isn't that relevant. The goal is to give him the ample amount of time to ramp up and get adequate rest between games in mid December, so he's able to contribute in January, not playing him in early to mid November.

If that is the case Pike threw him under the bus.

He approached me once at the RAC trying to sell me a copy of his book. I tried to politely say I wasn't interested but he persisted. Kept bragging about himself and his connections. I finally had to tell him to leave me the f alone.
