Good game today from the players and coaches. What id like to see moving forward is when up against supposed juggernauts like Michigan or Ohio State don't coach like you have inferior players. What happens is players can feel that you're coaching with a lack of belief in them and when adversity hits they have less belief in themselves and that's when you get blowouts.

After you go up 7 keep being aggressive on offense. If you aren't confident in wimsatt do what Michigan's o coordinator did and scheme up some easy wide open throws and runs. RU has the players to play with these guys, believe in yourself..

4 missed fourth down conversions. On the drive before the pick6 we threw 8 times ran 0 times. We played aggressive and the offense actually moved the ball, we just don’t have a play for 3rd and 4th & 1
Yeah we do--run the ball up the gut. How we don't have something else is beyond mystifying.

This was when the game was getting away from them. They had to throw it, I'm talking about the first half. The consistent run plays after the success on the first drive with the pass..

OL needs to improve but agree and I think we played fairly aggressive. Hated our 4th down play calls - all 3. Run RPO with Wimsatt and drag a Backside WR and TE and give him run pass option

When they took away Monangai's big run in the 1st. Schiano knew EXACTLY what was up and essentially said so in the halftime interview.

I think he was looking to the meat of the season and keeping players healthy for it instead of risking injury in an absolute no-win situation.

I didn’t see that at all. Not one bit. You need to give a bunch of examples. Good luck, cause didn’t see any.

The 1st half, after the first drive they went away from the pass. All I'm saying is I'd like to see them scheme more pass plays. I understand running is the identity but Michigan dline may have been too much for that strategy. I understand you want to protect Gavin... Michigan's oc protected mcarthy but still got big plays. Not because they had better players but because they were aggressive and schemed up ways to beat the defense..

Not saying Rutgers would have won, but if you hit the 44 yarder to cut it to 17-10, it’s a significantly different game. Instead of 31-7 it ends up a 1-2 score game.

I don’t equate a running play with not playing to win. If we don’t run the ball, we are going probably to lose.

I like the fact that we looked liked we belonged on the field with them. IMO we were not out manned and just mauled by them.

The Rutgers dline did not get dominated...dare I say they dominated until the final quarter when they lost confidence...
you are either high, don't know what you watching or confuse d linemen for linebacker play. Our D line was toasted all day, that's not even a debate

If you run the ball for no gain all 4 downs of a series maybe switch it up... believe in your players or your scheme to make a play. They were coaching not to lose instead of coaching like you're going to win. Players respond either way to this type of thing. Show them that you are confident not afraid of big bad Michigan..

How are you guys coming to that conclusion? Their rushing yards? Lol Am I wrong in thinking they were holding Michigan in check until the end of the game?

Just can't have that number of pre-snap penalties against a very good team.

The Pierce hold on the second offensive series was also a momentum killer.

I would have kicked the FG down 17-7 rather than going for it. Didn't like either of the two 4th down calls.

The read option between Kyle and Gavin seems to take a long time to decide. If Kyle winds up with the ball he has no forward momentum.

Wimsatt is very hot or cold with his throws. When he is on target he is effective but he misses badly on throws he should make or give his receiver a chance.

Dremel and Washington made some nice plays.

Defense was solid for the most part although I thought they picked on Max a bit. As usual they wore down as the game went on and the offense struggled.

Yes agree with all of this...the 4th down call is also part of it. If you know you can win the game you kick the FG to make it a one TD game and be confident that your defense has been playing well all game. Instead you throw a wr screen on 4th and 1 and get a pick 6. Game over..coach to win not afraid of Michigan..

Um, we went for multiple 4th down plays — rather than take FG attempts
with 3 seconds left in the first I felt.. FOR SURE.. that Schiano would try a long pass like what WVU did to us and him in Morgantown.

But I guess he FEARED a sack or long INT returned for a TD.

Yes.. that is pretty lame. And it is not like we were getting the 2nd half kickoff.

And then teh idea that Wimsatt barely took the 3 seconds.. or was that the clock guy trying to screw us?

This, what game are some people watching? We didn't get much pressure all day, couldn't stop them in short yardage situations. We did okay but Michigan was better than us everywhere.

I think our lines did well. It's just Michigan's lines are just better. Maybe the best in the country. Our Dline had trouble getting penetration but played well against the run until the 4th quarter.

They did not run right at the right defense....did you guys watch the game? They had to motion counter and misdirection their way to rushing yardage because they were getting stuffed..nh
So they have to run out of an I formation- to be considered running right at us? So if I post the highlights, I won't see Michigan running backs, gutting us - up the middle of the field?

You realize it was basically 7-7 until the 2nd half? Because they weren't "marching up and down the field" they didn't start doing that until after the pick 6 which took away the defenses motivation... understand the psychology of a player..

Our run blocking needs vast improvement in B1G play or we are in for a long season.
I know it’s Michigan’s highly ranked Defense but the OL looked weak

They had 200 yds rushing on 40 attempts. We’re improved and fought hard, but they still had 5 yds per carry.
