Now that we’re 6 weeks out from the first game, I’m hoping that this forum can move away from OT threads.

Name and discuss your prediction for Offense MVP, Defense MVP and breakout player.

My picks:

OMVP- Sam Brown
DMVP- Aaron Lewis
Breakout-Rashad Rochelle

Rationale: if RU if going to do anything this year, it will have to produce a strong running game. Sam Brown V is more talented than Monangai and should be RB1 if healthy. Aaron Lewis got better as the season progressed in 2022 and was co-MVP last yr. He’s the only Knight on PFF preseason All-Big Team. Rochelle is going to get a lot of touches in the return game, at WR and on some jet sweeps. He flashed at times last year and make break out as a sophomore.

We need breakouts from all 3 offensive transfers tbh, the 2 WR and the tight end along with Gavin. I think Gavin needs to be able to be a true dual threat and or be able to run the option competently this year to be effective unless he drastically improved his accuracy in the off-season. We already know Brown is a stud and our other backs are all very solid. OLine is a huge question.

I think our defense is going to be a top 25 defense. I see Toure having a big season along with Lewis.

Will Brown reach 100% health this season?
Need QB to take a huge step forward and have a breakout season

Would love to have Wimsatt as our Offensive MVP. It would be difficult however rising from his QB ranking of #16 in the B1G last season. Brown has the highest probability on Offense. Going with Powell on Defense.

Is that even a possibility? I'm being serious here, isn't Wimsatt firmly placed as the starter?
Sure it’s possible . Even if GW is the starter, stuff happens.
There is chance that 3 different guys start games. Injuries and ineffectiveness happen

I'd love to see Rutgers Football have the same Offensive Coordinator for more than 2 consecutive years. Does anyone know the average lifespan of a Coordinator at a P5 school?

Brown will be in the top 3 rushers in the conference.
The law firm of Lewis, Bailey, Jennings& Toure will keep the opponent honest.

And don’t forget all around player Johnny Langdon. He will be in on a lot of big plays.
