December 23 is the date.

Alabama is in Phoenix on the 20th, doubt it's them.

Florida plays Grambling on the 22nd.

Georgia plays North Florida on the 22nd.

It's not gonna be Kentucky.

LSU plays at home on the 21st.

Ole Miss plays Southern Miss on the 23rd.

Texas A&M plays Houston Christian on the 22nd.

Vanderbilt is at Memphis on the 23rd.

Options:
Arkansas
Auburn
Mississippi State
Missouri
South Carolina
Tennessee

My guess: Mississippi State

Shu fans r going to be so mad at us in their venue for a OOC. Can’t wait for the opponent reveal and game.

Per Twitter. Who will be the opponent?
A person would phrase it as "an SEC game" since that is descriptive. "SEC team" does not describe Kentucky although it is technically accurate. If he said "blue blood" or "perennial powerhouse" then it might be Kentucky.

Edit: this was meant as a response to the reply to your post, not yours.

So we play Seton Hall and then miss St both at the Pru Center in December?!?!?!?!

We better be renovating our arena rather plan playing the MSU game at home

No complaints about opponent or game, only complaint is how will the NCAA view this? My bet, both Trenton game and Prudential game are viewed as home games.
Trenton will be neutral. Newark will be home. For NET purposes

Why are we giving up so many games that could be played at the RAC. Princeton neutral is one thing. Zero reason to play MS at the Rock

Will the upper deck be opened? Would put higher odds vs the Seton Hall game.

Because a team like Miss State will not come to the RAC to play on their own. Very few schools in the country would.

RU would play every game at the RAC if possible

there are people who believe this
Yes and high major programs are just flying all over the country to play try road games.

I don’t like Duke has played a true OOC road game against a high major opponent in 20 years. So yes, coaches do not want to play at the RAC

At least this is a game where there is some potential benefit. The Princeton game is just plain stupid.

It’s more or less no travel though for the local contingent. Very doable, should have a nice crowd if the team isn’t a shell of itself early on

Rutgers should ask the Devils if they can create a ticket combo package that gets fans a seat for both games that day at a discounted rate

The 2023 Mississippi State roster has 2 seniors from our area. Jamel Horton Jr. from Queens and Dashawn Davis from The Bronx.
