OT: Adjustable Beds?

i have one i purchased from wayfair..........i'm very happy with it.....it has three vibrating levels and the remote control works well. it is quite affordable also..... it has a steel frame so it's sturdy but heavy also.....1200 including mattress and shipping.

Wife and I bought one this year, though ours only raises the head. We originally thought it was kind of a gimic, but not anymore.

Also bought my 80 year old mother the same bed, and she loves it as well, being able to incline it to read or watch TV is great.

I miss it for sure when I go on vacation. It's a great bed!

Ours is a Serta which raises/lowers the head and foot of the bed through a pretty sizable arc for each, allowing for many comfortable positions. The remote is nice, too.

I have a split California king adjustable and I hate the split mattress. Plus it's one of those foam over coil beds and it's a bit mushy. May actually throw it out the window and replace the mattress. Adjustable platforms are fine.

I'm thinking adjustable myself and thought a split king mattress might be nice because my wife could adjust her side one position and I could chose a different one.
Also was thinking hybrid mattress ( coils & foam) now thinking, because of what you said, just memory foam but wondering why split mattress not to your liking.

It has a gap in the middle and when I move, the gap widens between the two mattresses. My wife is petit so it's less of an issue when she moves, but I am pretty big and it makes a difference. I have had to wake up and push it back on the platform a few times because it was hanging off.

I bought a strap to bind the mattresses together and it helps a bit but then tends to compress the middle sections of the mattresses that it wraps around. If you want sleep anywhere near each other, someone ends up in the gap. Our dog ends up there a lot and I have considered that he may get stuck in there.

Thanks for the great explanation and dog part was the clincher for no split for me.
Wife spends a lot of time in bed , so adjustable would be nice for her.
Have a small dog that comes on bed with her , so split would be a worry after reading what you posted..
No split for my bed because of your heads up on problems I might encounter.

Select Comfort has adjustable bases too. Not everyone likes them. We have had one for close to 30 years, and we have been very happy with Select Comfort. Having moved quite a few times, easily the easiest King mattress to move, and no box spring! Not cheap though.

You know, now that I think about it, I don’t think I have, not while actually in my bed.

Other places in my house, and other houses, at a bar, food stores, malls, various BBQs, my dorm (some time ago), a hospital, hotels, airports, a plane, on boats/ships, some parks, in various cars, while hiking, on the beach, swimming in pools and the ocean, and perhaps other places, then yes.

Never anywhere by a sheep, though.
