You lose some nutritional composition in the vegetables via the blending process, so it's not equivalent to eating them, but still very very good.Is drinking a spinach smoothie with a little protein powder and a banana as beneficial to your health as eating them separately?
Am I thinking correctly if I drink my spinach smoothie in the morning, I really don’t need to eat vegetables at dinner?
A lot of spinach in my smoothieAs for the displacing your dinner vegetables with a morning blast -- no idea. Whats the serving size at breakfast? You gotta think about whether you are getting your average recommended daily intake.
But, more importantly than that, you want to really tailor your intake to your baseline nutritional deficiencies

I am what I am.Well if PopEye taught me anything, you're golden
Why would that decrease the nutritional value? It's just chopped up spinach in very small pieces. It's still all there. You lose some nutritional composition in the vegetables via the blending process, so it's not equivalent to eating them, but still very very good.
RAW or cooked? I think that Popeye used RAW.A lot of spinach in my smoothie
Vegetables aren't food. They're what food eats.Mix up some frozen chopped broccoli in your eggs with some avocado spread over the top.
Add a wrap with tomato, peppers, chopped celery and onions. You can add mushrooms if you like them.
Good way to get vegetables

Steam up the same amount and will see it really doesn’t compare. The entire smoothie cup could be full and it ends up no more than 3-4 forks of steamed spinach..,A lot of spinach in my smoothie
******* disappearing spinach.Steam up the same amount and will see it really doesn’t compare. The entire smoothie cup could be full and it ends up no more than 3-4 forks of steamed spinach..,
I would imagine that tossing spinach in a blender is more nutritious than heating/cooking. Just as eating spinach from your backyard is probably more nutritious than the pre-bagged spinach. You lose some nutritional composition in the vegetables via the blending process, so it's not equivalent to eating them, but still very very good.

Ya probably. You’d have to check this with a nutritionist but my guess is, in order of most to least nutritious, is:I would imagine that tossing spinach in a blender is more nutritious than heating/cooking. Beaced.. you once shared some diet advice that has helped you get to where you are now.. in good enough shape that no one reading your posts could possibly guess your advanced age... except for your stories about growing up in the log cabin next to the Lincoln family..RAW or cooked? I think that Popeye used RAW.
I think blended vegetables could be better as they're already broken much finer than your teeth can do and results in more surface area for your digestive juices to break down providing nutrients available for absorption.Ya probably. You’d have to check this with a nutritionist but my guess is, in order of most to least nutritious, is:
- raw vegetables
- blended raw vegetables in a smoothie
- cooked vegetables
We’re splitting hairs here tho, all are good
From what I understand- blending veggies and fruits loses little to no nutrients. But it may break down the fiber a bit but that actually allows your body to absorb them easier.I think blended vegetables could be better as they're already broken much finer than your teeth can do and results in more surface area for your digestive juices to break down providing nutrients available for absorption.
How can nutrition content change from blending? You literally have all the same content just mixed. Makes no sense.
