If the issue is TOEFL, it would be an easy fix. You can take as many tests as you want.
Rutgersā min toefl requirement is 79.
Michiganās is 90.
This is embarrassing on all levels....first, the kids name is being dragged through the mud, which should never happen, but let's put that to the side.
A) I am certain there are kids admitted to ALL schools where an applicant doesn't check off every box. BUT, if this test score was an iron clad requirement, then Michigan specifically, owns the responsibility of knowing whether the prospect would be close enough in his progress to achieve the score.
B) irregardless of where the "error " occurred, it is 100% on the school and coaches recruiting to also know IF you have any flexibility on the requirements. Michigan and Kante are both at fault to not commit to a school, unless you are 99.9% certain, you will be admitted OR the school has a path towards admission.
C) now that this requirement is in place for a 90 to gain admission at Michigan and a 79 or higher for RU, it is my suggestion to Mr Papa Kante, to get a grade between 80 and 85....that would be far enough away from the 90 needed at Michigan, but enough to join RU and Gavin Griffiths, Baye Ndongo and Davis this summer on the Africa and Portugal trips.
It sounds like Kante is going to have a decision to make at some point. Factor in the depth chart AND this debacle and I am voting for Kante to ask out of his National Letter of Intent with Michigan and immediately join RU.....
