The WBC starts next week. Here's a Twitter feed with the bracket and Fox channels to watch the games. I've been trying to get excited about this, but my interest is currently running about 1/1,000th of the World Cup. Hopefully, we'll be pleasantly surprised. I wish there were some exhibition games of the national teams to start gauging the lineups. To me, this tournament is shaping up as another miss from MLB. The WBC could be a golden opportunity to grow the game - here and abroad.

I love baseball and can’t wait for the season. Having said that…..I’d rather watch an NBa game (if you want to call it that) then the WBC
Anyone watching? Really awesome stuff. Taiwan and Italy are playing right now and Taichung Stadium is like the RAC of international baseball. Insane insane crowd. USA vs. Mexico on Sunday in Arizona is sold out and will probably be a road atmosphere for the home team.

My friend's son is a starting pitcher in the Angels organization that was allowed to pitch on Thursday for Team USA vs the San Francisco Giants.
Kenny Rosenberg (Lefty) pitched one inning and struck out all three batters against the Giants yesterday.
Kenny was called up by the Angels three times last year and pitched 5 innings against New York.....and struck out Aaron Judge.

USA has a strong lineup but pitching could be a problem. 50 year old Adam Wainwright appears to be the ace. The D.R has a stacked lineup also but lost their 1st game tonight scoring only 1 run. Their ace is Sandy Alcantara but he took the loss.
Now that sadly I’m not going to a tournament site, got tickets for Saturday night in Miami.
Need team USA to get back on track and into that game. If not, hope to see Soto and Machado!
I wish more athletes had joined the team USA team, especially pitchers. The pitching staff is awful in comparison (no Scherzer, JV, Degrom, etc).

Looked like a great atmosphere at last night’s game
The game is growing abroad and it’s like the only place that nobody cares about the WBC is in the US. All the Latin Countries are jacked up about this as seen in the stands in Miami, Phoenix, and elsewhere. Already some great stories from this tournament.
Should be a great couple of weeks hope no one gets hurt.
Hell of a story about that 21 YO amateur pitcher from Nicaragua signing with the Detroit Tigers farm system after striking out three Dominican All Stars.
I'm getting more interested in the WBC, but MLB has messed up this tournament once again - this time by scheduling it during Spring Training. Maybe someday this tournament will get the treatment it deserves. Play the tournament in January/February - expand the number of games. Have one or two countries host, and make it a big-time event.

I am so excited for this. I find myself looking forward to these pool d games a lot more than the Team USA games. Also very interested to see what happens if Japan meets Cuba in the Tokyo semi-final. Rematch of the 2006 championship game... Should be intense especially at the Tokyo Dome
We've been going over this for 17 years now. March is really the only time that works. Every other country can put their best team on the field it's only a problem for the USA.... A certain point it's about pride either you want to play or you don't.
I also love having the variety of sights. Taichung Stadium in Taiwan was one of the greatest baseball atmospheres I've ever seen. Miami is lit for the Caribbean teams. Passionate Mexican fans are turning out in Phoenix. Tokyo Dome speaks for itself. A one country venue would not have nearly the crowd enthusiasm and support.
Pool D is the Group of Death with one out of PR, DR, Venezuela going to be eliminated after the first round.
Cuba vs Japan is another great matchup I’d sit down and watch.
There’s only one place where you hear: THE WBC SUCKS… SHOULDNT HAVE IMPORTANT PLAYERS PLAY IN WBC… NOBODY CARES ABOUT WBC… WBC SHOULD BE THIS… WBC SHOULD BE THAT…
Everyone else loves the tournament and is trying to make it work, which is a good thing for baseball.
