Can we put a fork in SHU?

It may be time to pull the plug on Seton Small. They were on life support before the last two L’s. I’m looking for something to cheer me up.

Most of the people on this board I’d imagine. It’s in our best interest for other schools in the northeast to suck.

I really don’t think most on the board think much about SHU (beyond the days leading to the game).

I don’t know. But maybe the lack of comments on this thread is a bit of an indication of that? Maybe ?

As far as “good if other teams in northeast suck” - I admittedly used to think that, but really what impact would it have if SHU was really good as well? How does that hurt RU? I mean UConn has presumably been getting good recruits - has that somehow hurt RU?

If a northeast kid that we want is considering us and UCONN and/or SHU it matters. Don’t overthink it.

UConn got a big man RU would have liked to have
If we had gotten him we would have been better yet
So if UConn were to fall in relevance we might outdo them for a similar players in the future

I don’t know about the Northeast but SHU hates RU and RU hates SHU. It’s a legitimate thread topic, especially considering some of the other threads that are pure asshattery.

True re: asshattery.

I don’t know. Honestly I’m so Big10 centric I haven’t the slightest idea or care how SHU was doing

And I think some are overthinking the “northeast kid deciding between RU, shu, UConn” angle. Sure it could happen but it’s kind of a new world with recruiting (not just what pike is doing but the whole atmosphere of recruiting with NIL, etc). Realistically how often often does it really come down to local teams like that anymore. That’s happening less and less.

Still watch them. They have over achieved. But I think they are done. Like that they beat UConn who I think is now our biggest competition in the East now that Nova seems to have taken a step back.

Also find it fascinating that UConn is 9th in the NET and 6th place in the Big East.

Another thing about SHU, after Shareen Halloway was the belle of the ball last March, I had concerns that his recruiting would be off the charts. So them sucking and watching him try and become the darling of the NIT works better for me.

I have no issue with them being successful and makin the tourney AS LONG AS we do too.
Love to see the the bracket announced with say RU, SHU, Princeton, and another team like FD or St. Peters, etc in there.
I am with you on this. I root for all the Jersey teams to make the tourney. Also Seton hall being good when we are good it adds juice to the rivalry. I reserve my hatred for PSU, SU and Yukon, who can never lose enough to satisfy me.

While they stink this season, He outcoached Pike head to head in December.

To be honest I couldn’t tell you seton halls record this year. If not for this thread as a hint indicating they aren’t a tourney team it would be even harder. I’ll guess 14-12 but no clue let me check
