Was it the sweats or did he look a little thick around the middle?
Wimsatt, Shepard and Rupp but no Simon????
Nope. Perhaps sweats. Let's put this to rest and not jump to silly conclusions based on fast moving video.

Thought the same. Gonna need to spend some time with Butler
Meh even if he's thicc, as long as he can throw the ball and be mobile enough to run and fall forward for some first downs he can be really effective.

Also Gavin looked pretty good in that video.

After the reading the article on Shepherd, and competing in the CHSAA, unless Wimsatt has made huge strides this kid will be starting by Mid season

Not picking on you, but his last name is Sheppard.
It took 2 plus years and a lot of people could not spell Gleeson's name properly.
Sorry, pet peeve.

It was very rare last year for a true freshman to take the starting position at QB. FWIW:

"In turn, certain positions, specifically quarterback, saw very few true freshmen make a big impact right away.

Cade Klubnik was able to supplant starter DJ Uiagalelei late in the season at Clemson. E.J. Warner got a shot at Temple and Conner Weigman eventually took over at Texas A&M, but there was not a big wave of first-year signal callers making a statement."

Ajani Sheppard is listed at 6'3" 230 lbs.

Here's a quick look at the NCAAF Stats leaders:

Austin Reed 6'2" 230 lbs
Michael Penix, Jr. 6'3" 214 lbs
Caleb Williams 6'1" 215 lbs
Drake Maye 6'4" 220 lbs
Kyle Vantrease 6'2" 225 lbs
Stetson Bennet 5'11" 190 lbs
Clayton Tune 6'3" 220 lbs

Seems Sheppard is right-sized for success as a P5 QB. Heisman trophy here we come.

A lightly recruited 3 star, previously committed to powerhouse Old Dominion lol who has been on campus less than a week is now the projected starting QB by mid season. This conclusion is based on an article and the fact the kid competed in the CHSAA.

While I hope he turns out to have a fabulous RU career at QB, only on this forum will you read this type of nonsensical statement. Kind of reminds me of reading on here before Gavin even arrived on campus how RU needed to recruit additional QB's because he will probably only be here a couple season before heading to the league.

How about letting him complete Spring ball before proclaiming him the program savior

The QBs nobody’s seen in a college game are always the obvious best QBs on the team. Never fails. Although this was an awfully early example of the principle. 😀

Yeah, people ought to get the players name’s right, dammit. Sheepherd, and Gavon and the other QB’s deserve that much.

Lol it’s a prediction 😂😂😂
Let’s see what happens, add a little intuition into the equation. Don’t forget I did say unless wimsatt makes huge strides.
Btw are you familiar with Josh Allen
I guess your not allowed to make intuitive predictions on the sacred Rutgers Football chat board 😂😂😂

Sorry responding to urbancane
In that case I agree with you. Ideally since they are only one year apart Ajani is able to redshirt and develop and then they will be 2 years apart. But the best players should play. Nobody gets fired for playing the best players. Of course we have to win either way.
